Hey, dudes and dudettes on this Tnet site, I hope all is well in your metal datectin' lives. At 3:00 p.m. Eastern time, Zoy and I were in the swimming pool chatting about this great hobby...the usual conversation: our new ra-search projects, our Colonial coppa aspirations, fine-tune techniques for our White's machines, how our coil cords are wrapped perfectly around our upper and lower rods, how we are kicking some serious "you know what" in Central PA, how Grubby is a detecting god, Tnet forum issues, etc.
Well, after our 15 minute swim...let me just state: Yes, we held a competition on who could hold their breath the longest...I won with a total time of a 2 minutes. While we were drying off, the conversation continued with the usual metal detecting topics, with a stray conversation about the possible E.T. base on the "dark side" of the moon. Then, for some reason, I blurted out, "Dude, I am going detecting!" Zoy looked at me and stated, "Where at, KirkPA?" My response, "Hmmm...since I don't go to any of our ra-search sites without the team and the only area I can think of that could produce is the old park in town." That was when Zoy laughed at me and stated, "I graduated from the park!" Well, after those words, I got in his face, "I am better than you at this detecting stuff, so you just wait right here and I will go find something to rub in your face."
Ten minutes later, I had my detecting gear on and slammed the house door on my way out. KirkPA was determined to show his brotha how his skills will shine. I sped my way to the park...let me just state, it dates back to the 1860s. It used to be an old fairground, but has been hit suuuuuper hard since 1968. So, to find the good stuff, one needs some serious skills...detecting skills!
I got my datecta out of the trunk and ground balanced it...while I was performing this duty, a few hot chicks jogged by and smiled at me. I smiled back and stated, "Good afternoon, ladies." Hmmmm....maybe they were smiling at my massive arms, since I did have a muscle shirt on and kind of flexed my arms to display for them. I had to show the fine ladies my sexy, bulging biceps...they sure did love them. So, after they jogged by, and I got my groove on, I decided to walk around the park trying to find a "hot spot." The usual KirkPA cool strut went on for about an hour more...there were too many cute ones walking by for me to NOT act important and sexy at the same time.
After the hour passed by, I soon got a siggy that pinpointed at 3.5". This turned out to be a shank button. After recovering it, I thought, "Nice! See everyone...I have the skills to find what the other dudes missed!" Since I am a pro, I decided to grid the area with my White's machine. While gridding, a few cars drove by and honked at me....I just can't help myself at times...hahaha.
My next decent signal came after I dug the usual garrrrrbage in the 1st hour. It was reading at ____ and pinpointed at 6". I jabbed at the ground, threw some dirt out of the hole, and that was when I plucked the coin from its grave. I rubbed at it and that was when I saw the bust of "Lady Liberty." It turned out to be a three-cent nickel piece. After identifying the coin, I stood up and performed a double fist pump in metal detecting celebration. That was when I noticed a dude standing next to me...he stated, "Find anything good? I have a machine kind of like that." I stated, "Nope, nothing here." So, after about a minute chat, he kind of got the hint that I was busy and didn't want to bothered. After he was out of sight, I picked my datecta up and walked around the area...I was bouncing my legs up and down a little bit to showcase my current state of happiness.
The day ended after that and I came home to rub this coin in Zoy's face. I entered the door and since he was standing right there, I tossed the coin at him, "Check it, sucka!" He couldn't believe what I had found in this hunted park. He stated, "That just proves your skills! You beat the dudes in the past!"
Oh, to let you dudesters know, I found an 1875-S Seated dime and three IHs here last year. It is a great site to screw around at when I have the time! hahaha As Grubby would state, "White's strikes again!"
*Coin was found in a park that I won't disclose here on the forum. I, KirkPA, want ALL the coins for myself.
