Three Weeks- Six Boxes

Last month my first box after a five month break was my best ever, 71- 40% and 2- 90%. Since then I have been getting a box of halves and dimes a week.

1st week- 2 40%'s with 1 being a 76-S which was the first silver 76 I have ever found. Also found a 62 dime.

2nd week- 2 40%'s and a 64 which I didn't see until I was date checking the rolls because the rim was so dark it didn't even look like a 40%. Dimes were solid 2013 or 14.

This week- first skunk on the halves but I found 2- 64 dimes anyway. Found a wheatie that somehow got into my pocket from change.

Nice score M! Maybe there is something to be said for "Re-beginners Luck", I had to "give it up" for several weeks (due to health issues) and when I came back and started in again the boxes were great, Enjoy yours!

Pretty decent results from just 6 boxes. Kinda strange too that I got my best box ever (80 x 40%) just a couple of days before u got your best box ever and my box had almost the exact amount of silver too.

Hey Minkybodl, a decent few weeks finds for little volume, i'm happy to hear you're able to enjoy the hobby again!

Silverface, I remember that you had a bunch of enders from your box, 9 I think, while mine had 3 showing when I openned it and then I found 1 more underneath. I put the 4 aside and the first roll I openned had seven silvers in it and right from the start it seemed that every roll with silver in it had more than just one coin. My old best box was 72 all 40%'s and that had 7 or 8 enders in it. I'll be hoping that you get some more really nice boxs soon.

Thanks BB, I never did any high volumes anyway, my most was maybe 4 boxes of halves, so a couple of boxes a week is fine with me for now. I'd like to get one other pickup sorce to have as a fall back bank but I do still have a few Tellers keeping a look out for halves for me and banks where I can ask for boxes of dimes and nickels. Now all I need is to find one of those Barbers like some of the lucky people on here find.

I found a 1987-D today after seeing this post. Really worth keeping?

If your money is tight then no but, they only made like 3 million of each mint mark so I keep the ones I find that are in good shape. I don't know if they will ever be worth more than 50 cents. I think I have found 8 to 10 of them in 3 or 4 years now.

I keep all proofs and 1987 halves myself, they won't be worth more than face, at least for a very long time. they are just neat to keep!
