Found this today in my creek...the pics don't do it justice but wondering if it's the tip of a knife and what kind of stone it is...any ideas? It's 1/4" at thickest part and width at widest part where it's broken is 1 1/4"

Its called Sugar Quartz and its either the tip or the base. Looks like you are getting closer to finding the rite spot.
