Found a new site today that looks promising. Spent about 3 hours detecting and an hour looking around. Not sure what the first copper is maybe a kind George. The second copper was the worst. I think it's a us large cent and the third I think is a Connecticut copper. Thought the little iron was cool too. Thanks for looking.

Those are some awesome finds, wish they had places like that around here.

iron.webpawesome finds!, i found a similar iron looking thing at my colonial site early this spring

Nice finds there.... :)

yes, third is a CT, but first isn't King George. First glance had me thinking late 18th century French, but I think it's something else. It could be a jeton (French or German) of around the same age and that could account for the slight difference in the bust.

Nice recoveries Greylock. That site is more than "promising", it is delivering ! :icon_thumleft:

Killer site there, clearly with the age of those toasties - you are due to hit something very nice !

Awesome finds! Can't wait to see what else you come up with.

Nice finds Greylock.

Thanks IP for confirming the CT and thanks to everyone for the comments

Hi Tom,

Just catching up on posts here...very nice set of finds! Hopefully you can get that CT copper to clean up a bit and be able to ID the type. Can you see a year on it? I like all the buttons you seem to find on every outing--spent the weekend detecting with Grant Hansen & NJLargeCent and we all got some flat buttons, but not nearly as many as you did. Best of luck with the new spot--it looks like a good one!

Regards, Erik

Looks like you have a nice new site. The buttons and coppers are late colonial period and that is one of the most interesting periods to hunt in my opinion.

Erik, that's about as clean as I could get them without losing more detail. Unfortunately I can't get a date off any of them.
Steve, I love hunting this period. The problem is I spoil myself with the colonial and have a hard time going back to some of the newer sites.
Thanks again everyone for looking.

Very nice finds and I also found one of those little irons and always wondered what it was for or from?

nice finds congrats HH
