In the "Great Depression" folks were seen selling things on street corners.
Now it is illegal. So illegal things are sold on street corners.
America was the producer to the world for food and new technology.
Now it seems the only jobs are as re-sellers and chambermaids.
Where are the inventors going and the manufacturing?
A stock broker urged me to buy Ford stocks and Bank of America last year.
I would have lost my a$$ on those deals.
American companies seem to be sinking badly.
I don't know if NAFTA is responsible.
I have always been up to the task of competition but something is wrong.
To build the mold for a case for a calculator (top and bottom) would take maybe 80hrs.
The metal cost for a single mold (1 front,1 back) maybe $800.
Buttons molds are already available. View screens too. They each cost a bunch.
Circuit board mfg. and assembly and infrastructure adds up.
Shipping, sales and advertising add more cost.
Taxes on all this. (?)
I can buy one for 99 cents with more power than early computers !
Made in China.
Not by Americans.
