Total Newb ... Just Bought Detector Today

Just introducing myself ... I'm a total Newb and live in Ventura, California. Just ordered a Minelab SDC 2300 from Kellyco this morning, downloaded a bunch of 100+ year old Ventura County mining maps, and am planning excursions for when the detector arrives. Just doing it for the adventure and exercise ... mostly. That's all I've got ;-)

PS - Who should I be watching on Youtube for instruction?

I enjoy watching The Hoover Boys and Aquachigger, though the best instruction comes from experience. I find some help in YouTube videos, but at this point they are more inspiration than instructional, which isn't a bad thing to keep you going!

Welcome. Remember till you get used to your machine I suggest watching some videos of it and then digging everything so you can learn the machine. And remember to dig large plugs. Its better for the grass and keeps you from shoveling the targets!!!

… and congratulations on your detector... make sure you have a warranty I think there was a recall on that particular model and brand something to do with batteries I think.

It's exciting .. this new journey … isn't it!
