Treasure Clue, can you help?

Hope Everyone Had A Happy And Rewarding HolidayThis Weekend

? ? ?I just wanted to clarify that I know MS wouldn't actually use a Monopoly Game for this hunt but what I was thinking was he was hinting at Board Game stategy type thinking, and maybe trying to tell us to think like kids in the sense that this is a fun game, puzzle and treasure hunt, family oriented, to be enjoyed by adults and children alike and take us back to our fun loving times,? we certainly need that,? we should always make time to enjoy life, family, children and be fun loving.? ?

? ? ?I think its great to see this happening after so many stressfull things we as Americans have been dealing with the last few years.

? ? ?Anyway back too the board game theory,? In this case it is maybe shaped like a checkerboard type game board 5 x 5 and like a jigsaw puzzle, its much easier if you get the corners in and the outside perimeter, then the rest starts making more sense with each piece falling in to its proper place.? Maybe Colors are important, I don't know but they seem to be.

? ? ?The Corners of a Monopoly type game board are important and fun corners except for the go directly to jail part.? I was thinking maybe MS wants us to possibly pay a little attention to the corners and build from there.? Then maybe get the perimeter figured out.? :-\ ;) The rest will start flowing in with some kind of pattern forming.? Just a possible theory but not proven as of yet.? Take it with a grain of salt.

? ? ? Monopoly does have a? National Parks Game and in June they are releasing an America The Beautiful Game, which both are probably really good to play with the kids because they learn a lot about our country while they are playing and spending hours with the family like we all should be doing anyway, but TV, Game Boys ect. keep us so occupied these days along with all the problems.? I believe that there is also one other that is out or coming out about American History,? they all will be great for learning and enjoyable for the family.

? ? ?Life is too short not to be enjoying it so everyone GOOD LUCK and have a great time,? HAVE LOTS OF FUN and ENJOY.? Look how much we all enjoy just talking and sharing with each other about this hunt.? I don't care really who finds the tokens, I will be happy for them, I just hope we all learn to enjoy our lives and each other and our beautiful country.? ;)

?? I have a surgery to be done on the 30th so I won't be on line for a little bit but HAVE LOTS OF FUN and don't give up on the folks.? HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

BONNY BLUE ? ? ? ?

OK BB, we see the kid is as nice looking as his father. I have no kids, but the Seminole won't let dogs in the casino either, so I spent some quality time with my husband and the one-armed bandit. (Actually, they are all video grames now--so no arm to pull.)

I still think there may be something to the unnecessary capital letters as a code. What page has the most? The only words that should be in caps are names and the first word of every sentence (or character's utterance).

Bonnie, best of luck recovering from the surgery. Meanwhile, the border on page 31 will be scrutinized. There is another message there that we have not unlocked.

I believe the clues are going to be in three layers, corresponding to what Pancho (please correct me if I disremember) has identified as the three types of information needed to find each token: the name (e.g., city), area (e.g., street/park), and sanctuary or actual hiding place (e.g. tree's hole). I think each layer of information is increasingly more difficult to find.

We have nailed the 24 hidden creatures (but don't know how they play into this), and the alphabetic clues, which I think are the first layer. I believe the coded messages in the borders are the second layer, such as the Morse coded "Near the overlook" in the border on page 31. We have only begun to uncover the coded clues. However, I expect that each of the codes and puzzels in the companion book (CB) will be used at least once.

One of the reason I say all this is that some people believe they have used all the messages--hidden or otherwise--to find just one token. Some have interpreted the clues to indicate they have found a common sanctuary (if not the places) of all 13 tokens. I don't believe it is that simple. MS said he hopes 13 different people will find one treasure each, and he has given us 3 years to do so. Therefore, my theory is that there is no one type of hiding place for each treasure, and all the clues would not be used to direct someone to just one of the tokens.

I believe there are 13 sets of clues that will lead to 13 different types of locations, and we have only just begun to discover those clues. Please let me know your thoughts on my theory.

LITDOC, i agree with your last post completely. I have always thought that he used a different code to unlock the key to each token. he seems to enjoy hiding clues and messages in the text and illustrations. he also seems to enjoy codes and such. my thinking would be that he didn't just stick with one type or way of decoding , but that he used a little of each that he referred to in the companion book. i also think it is the only way to make the hunt harder for us but more fun for him. to me he seems like he's just a big kid and he's having a good time playing.

BONNIE, didn't mean to post again . i forgot to add on your monoply theory. i think that as omni pointed out that it isn't monopoly, but the game idea is a good one. you made me think about the puzzle page and the childrens block page. children's games i don't think should be ruled out . i may get hammered on this one but i always thought the picture of the tree and the house built in it , the winding stairs , remided me of chutes and ladders game. sorry everyone i'm ready for the beating.

BONNIE, hope your recovery and all goes well.

You are right CM. That page does look like the water park, Adventure Islands, that Busch Gardens operates here in Tampa!

LITDOC, oh to be where it's warm.

Today i went to the doc, which happens to be next to forest park here in st. louis., on one side of the highway is forest park and the zoo. on the other side of the highway they put giant sculptures of animals, a few turtles and a looooong snake . it stretced out along the side of the highway , but reminded me of the serpent in the book. just thought i'd pass it on it just caught my eye .

Stumped . . .

Ok, so we seem to agree that there are different sets of information needed for each token. ?We also agree that those three pieces of information are detailed for us in the poem.

But here is the big question I have right now. ?Where does a/the cipher key fit into this whole theory? ?While I believe that the part of about the fairies showing you where to go likely involves a cipher, having one key for 13 ciphers doesn't match up with the aforementioned theory of 13 solutions. ?

Which leads me to the conclusion that the cipher key may only deal with the Pook token; which was revealed to us with the first solution to Hint: Tackle Repositorys. ?Start Cipher Key in Tools? ?Is it a coincidence that the "tool page" is also the first image we see of Pook in the book? (Please correct me if I am wrong here.) ?It's just a hunch. ?I honestly feel that MS has chosen another method of finding the Pook token versus the original 12. ?Otherwise, why wouldn't he have included it with the original release of the book?

For the one you are missing, you did not see? ?There are no hidden Pooks in the book that I have heard about. ?You'll also notice that Pook is missing from the back of the book detailing each of the other treasures. ?You simply did not see the Pook treasure going in, until it was revealed to us. ?

What do you think? ????

I don't believe the poem holds all three of the pieces/layers of information we need to find 12/13 tokens. I believe it reveals only one layer. I am guessing there are two more layers, the next to crack is the coded messages found in the borders of the full-page illustrations, for example the Celtic knots on pages 20-21 and the different colored squares on page 31.

My suggestion is that we move on from the alphabetic poem (which was fully cracked by the time I first picked up the book) to the coded messages, which may also be a poem but in Morse code, cryptogram, ciphers, etc.

PANCHO, I was thinking maybe that he uses a different cipher for each seperate token, but maybe there is only one key. i hope this makes sense. it just seems that it would be too easy that one code could break down the location for all the tokens.

the other thing that comes to mind . i purchased the book by simon singh called THE CODE BOOK ..HOW TO MAKE BREAK HACK IT AND CRACK IT. in this book he refers to the key as being a nomenclature. i don't know if this helps but i thought maybe the key was in the nomenclature of faeries. any thoughts.

Lets look at it this way, OK? :-\

So we are searching for a place/treasure with a map, and what would be on that map? A Key, A precise location, Directions, mabey some longetude and latitude lines, a scale, probably (in this case) a common place and/or a landmark, and a big red X that markes the spot. We need more than a key.......and thats what MS is giving us easier than everything else.
Right????????

Or am i just babling to all these expertes that r gonna blow me off? :-\Mabey. We'll see.

? ? ? ? ? ? ---? ;D haley ;D

Perhaps there is a search function to find the subpoem, but until it is verified, it is as useless as Jet's solution on finding all the tokens.

I expect MS has given us keys, but we have not found (read posted) any yet. ?And I am not expecting to find a map; it's going to be more challenging than that.

By the way, for those who were arguing for or against needing a magnifying glass to search for clues, did you notice that the first illustration after the title page in the CB (companion book) is a magnifying glass and it also appears on page 87? ?Figure that.

LittleDoc-

Where did you get the compainion book?? I looked in Borders and Barnes and Nobles (IN TAMPA) ! None have them!
