My 75 year old mother lives with me. If one of us gets sick, one of us, as in me, will have to live in the garage for a couple weeks or more,with no plumbing and only a single 120v outlet. It's a #%+€ state of things to be in and if you got a cabin or a van to hide out in, or to hide your sick in, more power to you IMO.

I had made a suggestion to someone...
There's going to be ppl that don't have a safe place to quarantine.
Such as your case, and I'm sure many others.

Why couldn't these empty hotels be used as quarantine facilities.
They're ALL empty ALL over the country!
No need to weigh our hospital resources down with sick ppl,
that just need somewhere to ride out 2 or 3 weeks?

The lobby/offices could be set-up for the medical personnel/supplies/equipment
The hotels should be clean, I see ppl cleaning like I've never seen b4 in my life!
Then those who just need quarantine vs. hospital care, can be cared for there.
Send the bill to china....
Wouldn't that be better than hauling fema trailers to national parks?

I'm trying to figure out some solutions to help this situation.

Why do we not also allow our TRUCKERS to stay
in ALL THOSE EMPTY HOTELS that are ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, atm.

These hotels are serving no purpose empty, and these are unprecedented times.
Our NG can protect these hotels, where truckers can have a safe place to hunker down,
get a shower, meal, without any worries!

How boss is this, that one of the most famous hotel chain owners,
literally, shuts down ALL his competition.

eta: I just emailed & called the WH, left comment msg,
about them using them empty hotels for patients, truckers,
dr's nurses, etc... to have safe refuge, so they don't have to go back home after shifts, risking infecting their families.

Was at the store yesterday and got a real good wiff of something bad. Turns out I was following someone that smelled like they stopped wiping. I just thought "what the heck is this world coming to?" Then snickered to myself about it.

That would be great for truck parking, but need private rest & shower facilities.
Also, the horrors of Katrina and the New Orleans arena...
I doubt anyone would want to go near one during an emergency, fearing....

It makes me think of our drive-up test facility, they've just opened
in Broward cty, at Joe Robbie stadium...
There's already a 1/4 mile back up this morning.
I just have these visions, they would say, "Ok, mam, you're going to need
to park and proceed into the stadium"....

seen my next door neighbor this morn, hadnt seen
for a few days. the convo went to the weather,and
what will happen, when the natural disasters come
were thinking NDs, will prob take just as many as
the CV-19. we had to talk loud from about 8' as
the house 3 doors down, party down, they have a 6'
privy fence, estimate 5-15 souls almost everyday
steady loud most of the time. the lots in this
hood are 48' x 360' deep and back into a 60 acre
city park,even with that much room,the party dont
seem to be practicing social D
for the most part the hood seems to practice SD

N.Y Governor Cuomo on tv now, essential workforce to travel only. Was 75% of workforce to stay home, now 100% stay home. Essential travelers only--drug stores, grocery stores, electric ,water, phone and gas company's etc are the only people that should traveling or out. Here in the resort areas in Summit County Colorado we're takin a huge economic hit. The wife is laid off from her job in lodging, but like a lot of others will still get paid. For a while. My job is pretty much secure. Now that we've run all the tourists out, supplies have gotten better for us locals. One thing that hurt us is people from other parts of the state came here and wiped us out in the stores, but I still get a truck every day. Some of the visa workers are having trouble getting back to their home countries, depending on what travel restriction that country may have. I noticed today that wallyworld has a sign up saying they will not sell handgun ammo or 'military type' ammo. That's a store thing and not a county directive. I had to get ID'd to prove I was old enough to get in one grocery store the other day. Overall, our morale is still pretty high and everybody is in good spirits. As far as shoppers, I do have to say I've seen worse behavior at one of those Black Friday sales. Heard it's been a little worse in some parts of the country.

Walmart North of me quit selling handgun ammo a while back.
I bought a couple boxes at half price when they did. Didn't need them ,or buy all they had , but the price was right ,even if the concept of their not selling it is flawed.

DON'T RESTRICT BEER WINE LIQUOR SALES!

My reasoning is this: We have MANY alcoholics, if they didn't prepare, run out of booze,
get cut off "cold turkey", they could go into DT's and die!
They, too, need to be protected, so they're not a danger to themselves.
My hubby had to stop drinking to do a medical treatment once.
1st or 2nd evening, he started shaking real bad....
I said "Honey, why don't you let me get you a beer".
He's like "Oh God thank you".... I recognized it...
My stepdaughters Mom has almost died twice,
when they tried to detox her off booze.

We can also use high proof booze for disinfectant.

Just a thought...


Cuomo is a scared little fredo…. he's being made to heel, too.
