Hit a new field up the road from my house, home for a bit to eat lunch then headed back. This field has been great so far. Got all these coins in a 20 foot area. First coin was the half Reale. Only my second one ever, its worn but I think it a 1782? I see 178 clearly the last digit is harder to see. Then came the FE my third of the year, will give that a soak later tonight. Next I dug the mis shaped copper, I belive it is a large cent, but it is bigger then the other large cent that I got today, so am not sure yet. Probably wont get a date off either but thats ok by me. Walking back to the truck got the 37d washington. Was hoping for somthing else when I saw a silver quarter, but silver is silver. Thanks for looking, hopfully I will have a few more to post later on tonight.

So just got back, and Kuger you were right. I dug another half reale, I think this one is 1756 if so it will be my oldest silver coin so far. I believe its a little different design too. Also dug a shield nickel, that I didnt take a pic of. I will go ahead and say that coin wise this has been the best day I have ever had detecting.

Why wouldnt one show there?I have dug several in Calif.

Re: Trying to keep pace with the PA boys!

Well the older home areas where one might find one in this town have been hunted hard and now it is almost impossible to get permission to hunt anywhere in this town where you would think one would be. But you never know, I guess.

Re: Trying to keep pace with the PA boys!

Thats just it,you never know!I too never expected to dig one,as they are rare here too,but I got on a streak,it was pretty cool!Have not found one since!! :laughing7:

Dude you got a great site going there! We hunted high and low for Spanish today but was a no go.

Nice finds...some good detail on that older reale!
