Hit a new field up the road from my house, home for a bit to eat lunch then headed back. This field has been great so far. Got all these coins in a 20 foot area. First coin was the half Reale. Only my second one ever, its worn but I think it a 1782? I see 178 clearly the last digit is harder to see. Then came the FE my third of the year, will give that a soak later tonight. Next I dug the mis shaped copper, I belive it is a large cent, but it is bigger then the other large cent that I got today, so am not sure yet. Probably wont get a date off either but thats ok by me. Walking back to the truck got the 37d washington. Was hoping for somthing else when I saw a silver quarter, but silver is silver. Thanks for looking, hopfully I will have a few more to post later on tonight.

So just got back, and Kuger you were right. I dug another half reale, I think this one is 1756 if so it will be my oldest silver coin so far. I believe its a little different design too. Also dug a shield nickel, that I didnt take a pic of. I will go ahead and say that coin wise this has been the best day I have ever had detecting.

It will come for you! I may have asked you before, but do you dig alot of reales up there. I know you have a few cobs, which is somthing I have never dug here.

17 Spanish, 9 are cobs.

Bottom 1/2R coin is from the reign of Fernando VI 1746-1759:
Obverse: FRD VI D G HISP ET IND R
Reverse: VTRA QUE VNUM , M (mint), date , M (assayer)
There are two types of this coin; one has two ROYAL CROWNS atop the columns and the other with one ROYAL and one IMPERIAL crown. There is little difference in the value of either type and there is little difference in the value of the dates 1756 or 1758.

Right... I didn't even compare the legends because my book only shows one. Kind of odd for a Krause, must mention the other type in small print.

Thanks Mackaydon! So I am not going blind it is a 1756. Had me fooled.

The flying eagle is my most Favorite coin ever!!!!

I can only dream of ever finding one around here though.

Great finds! :icon_thumright:

I've dug two in Indiana in the past 2 years. If I lived closer to you, I'd find you a few sites to hunt. You need to be hunting where others don't hunt--and finding the sites that are so long gone that no one remembers them.
