Well the dodgy weather continues here in the uk, sunshine / torrential rain… it’s a nightmare when planning your detecting outfit let me tell you! What is also a nightmare is letting himself choose which patch of field to do…😬 we went to the opposite corner an his say so and I literally found nothing, he got a few beeps but it was modern bits!

so I headed back to my favourite area and instantly rewarded by 3 Romans and a pre dec! He found some more bronze bits, lots of these nails.. some modern pieces he found, buttons and a bullet … so for an evening not to bad, but in Future, I will not be listening to him and his ‘good ideas’ 😂😂 bless him xx

Well himself has to pick up his game. Maybe some of that Elderflower drink (slip some rum in) might help the corner of the field.

Can you tell me what “pre dec” refers to? And what is this drink? Is it made from elderberry flowers? I’ve never heard of that. We have tons of elderberries around here that are never used by anyone I know of.

Of course ! Pre Dec.. is my shorthand for a pre decimal coin… pic of elderflower presse…. Never tried it but seems popular over here! xx

Most of those small Nails are Roman Hob-Nails, so it points towards the Roman military visiting the Site/Area.
