Turkey Hunting/Metal Detecting

I generally take my detector with me to hunt old home sites. Turkey hunting goes cold around 11:00am so I go "scratch" around in the leaves with my feet when I get ready to dig a target....sounds just like a hen turkey feeding. Doesn't work all the time but it worked this morning!

I was digging only my third target when this fellow sounded off at 50 yards or less, I barely had time to grab my gun and get situated. This is a "find" of the season for me.

For what it's worth, the third target is still there, gonna have to go back soon. The other targets were mason jar lids......

That is a big bird. My buddy and I saw about 6-8 yesterday driving to find a camping ground for Memorial day weekend. We talked about getting one ourself...hope its that big too!
