Nice finds!

Did you use Brass-o or Brillo on those silvers?

Hope that merc didn't have a "D" on it.

Just a soft tooth brush and hand soap. Yes i beleave it has a D after the one.
Just to add i would never use any abrasive on good finds.

It has a "D" mintmark on the back at the bottom?!

BB i beleave so, i will check when i get home from work.

Ez if it has a "D" mint mark then its worth hundreds. It looks like you might have cleaned it a bit too much but maybe its just the picture. It might be considered cleaned or polished by collectors and de-values the coin a bit.

Here is a diffrent pic of it. I think the flash of the camera is what made it shine like that. D or not it was a fun find and go with the rest of Mercs i have :icon_pirat:

Give us a nice close up of the back of that merc! g4 condition $900.00 , vg-8 $1400.00 , f12 $2600.00 , vf20 $4200.00 , ef40 $6200.00 , au50 $9200.00 , ms63 $18,000.00 , ms65 $30,000.00 these are the yeoman offical red book values. cant really tell the condition unless we see the back of the coin, and if it is in fact a "d"

Cool finds whether theres a D or not! WTG!

Hey thanks Hunter. Im just in it for the fun of the hunt. I almost didnt dig it beacaue i was getting a double tone "dime & quarter" but it wasnt iron falseing and i knew i could be two coins in one hole. Sure enough a wheat was in there too. You get the warm fuzzys when you recover something so old that looks that good out of a in hole surrounded by 100 years of cap and tabs.

It was still a heck of a good day for you, even if there's no D on the dime.

Bob, dude..........you are keeping us in some serious suspense here...........turn that bad boy around and check if there is a D mint mark on the back...........if it does that is like several thousand dollars! Hurry up man!

Sorry for the suspence guys, there is no D. :'(. Still a real nice condition dime though.

Nice finds EZrider wtg  Congrats on the firsts. You have to dig them dual tone hits, I know there is a huge difference between the F75 and the F2 but my F2 will give me a double tone too and I can't tell you how many times I've dug 2 coins out of a hole or 1 coin and a pulltab etc. very fast response. Good Luck!
Glenn

In the future, just a soft camel's hair make-up brush very gently with water running over the coin the whole time. No Toothbrushes! I had Serious nighmares about that coin being a 1916-D--it woulda knocked hundreds off of its value due to the toothbrushing.

Can't ever be too careful until you know exactly what you've recovered.

I see you've been busy lately.
Those good old Bronx parks are paying off.
I'm gonna have to start looking.
