To start the day off my camera protective lens cover would not open, to many trips in the field. I have only had that thing for 10 years, I guess I got my money out of it. Anyway moved a lot of dirt and I mean a lot, first thing I found was what I thought was the best, I have never seen one of this size and polished like this, I guess you can call it a plummet/weight.View attachment 884780View attachment 884781View attachment 884786View attachment 884787This thing is perfect, the only thing wrong with it is a small ding where I hit it. I have never found one that was this big, polished and drilled. Man I was as happy as a pig in a mud hole. This find stoked me up so I went back at it, the very next scoop I found this point, I think it is a what we call a carrollton point 3000 to 4000 years old.View attachment 884793View attachment 884795Things could not get any better, but I was wrong. As I bent down to go back to work in this 3ft deep pit, I was on my knees and a clump of dirt fell off the wall with this and landed almost in my lap.View attachment 884805View attachment 884810View attachment 884818View attachment 884825View attachment 884829This is some of that green stone that folks where telling me about. I have found a celt made of some of it already. Someone said what's next silver and gold beads, well this is just has good to me. JMO these items have never been used at all and I think they where made for someone special or a special time. The disk made a few dings on this one , but what the heck I think I will keep it.:laughing7:

I'm bumping this one, I'd really like an explanation...

Well guys I don't know what to say except, I found them the way they are, I didn't make them, I would never post something fake for a real artifact. No one knows of that site but the land owner and his hands and I don't see them being able to make such items and yes they do shine a lot, before I posted them I told my wife the shine did not look right, but they came out of the dirt like you see them. I drive a fuel transport 12 to 14 hrs a day 5 to 6 days a week and take care of my wife who has had a stroke, I sure don't have time or the tools to make such a time enhanced fake. If someone did put them there no one has come forward and said I got you. I do reproduce bows, arrows, knife's and tomahawks but do not have a rock shop to make something like those. If they are fakes then the joke is on me, not anyone else. I have to many things to do in life than make fakes and post on the web for people I don't know and please don't take that in the wrong way.

Sorry about that, You deserve another banner, nice finds...

I couldn't see you doing any of that...thank you for the conformation.
I hope you didn't take anything I said the wrong way.
Have you found anything else in that exact spot?
Other items of the same materials, or just anything with patina from the same level?
Did the sides of your hole,square... have defined layers or did it appear disturbed?
What is your gut telling you?

The ground has had subsoilers run thur it, it's all farm land and there is no such thing as no till to these guys. After the crops they disc twice and then come back and mound up the rows for winter. I have not gone any deeper due to the fact I found my bird bead at this level, maybe I should go deeper. I have found a small celt made of the same green stone has the axe on top of the ground but nothing out of the same stone the weight is made of.

I'm completely and totally interested in how things progress for you there.
Please keep us in the loop.
Wow... that's all I've got.

I would really be surprised to see any of those three pieces paper. I don't doubt that you dug them up, they are just really bizarre looking and they all look like flea market finds.

I hope they are legit and I'm not trying to be an arse, just saying they don't look right. At all.

That's where I'm at.

Heck yeah my vote too if it counts lol

I have no reason to think you are dishonest. My apologies. Now that we have the scoop on these finds, I must say ....WOW!!! After finding the plumb I would be staggering around like Fred Sanford. "I'm coming to Join ya Lizabeth....this is the big one"

Shiny... hehe.... Too Shiny.....

I agree with Scotto, other than the fact that you dug them out of the ground. No way these were ever in the ground, they looked buffed, not polished... and even as fakes, they represent enough $$ that nobody would have "planted" them with the slim chance that they would be found and posted just for a laugh, I mean, really???
I just want to keep it real here and be honest with all.

Update on the site and this is hard to write but here goes. Went this morning and started moving dirt and a farm hand came by and stopped to talk, he ask me if he told me a secret would I promise not to tell his boss or his co-workers cause it could cost him his job. Then he dropped the bomb on me. It seems that when I found the bead and other stuff 2 of his co-workers got upset because I was walking the fields that they hunted, so one of them has a brother that makes and installs stone counter tops. They made the plan that if I was wrapped up in the hole I would not have time or want to walk the fields. So the brother made the artifacts and they planted them in the ground about a week before I came back, just in front of where I was sifting. He made me promise not to say a word cause he is afraid he might lose his job because his boss and I have become friends. After I found my bead I gave his boss a free membership in a hunting club in Ms. so I could have open range on his land. A lot of you said there was something wrong with these items, but my mind could not or would not go there because I dug them up and because who the hell would buy a fake just to bury it. So now that I have been made a fool of and posted this on the net I feel like the biggest a-- in the world. I broke one of my own rules and that is (if it looks to good to be true, then more than likely it is.) I am sorry for wasting your time, and all I can say for the 2 hands is (what comes around goes around).

Rack, you are NOT the Lone Ranger. I had a slimy SOB rip me off recently. The way it happened to me, the story behind my acquiring the fakes, sounded like the most rung up, BS lie ever not thought through. It actually made me look as if I made up a story to half way cover my stupid purchase. Regardless of how big of a lie the truth looked like, I posted it any way. After I read it for myself, I realized I can't make stuff up this bizarre. It felt good to let all of my T-net friends know what happened to me. I'm sorry this happened to you. No need to feel like an ass. I'm glad you found the deal out. I know if I pull a piece from the ground, no one could convince me it was not real. Especially pulling axe heads or any other well documented tool. Hey, find the guys truck and place it on his hood. Someone else knows this guy makes repro. Artifacts. He's far to good at it for only one man to know this.

One rule I have always followed would have avoided this.
Your bead for instance... if I found that...the last thing I would do is show it to people close to that area..or who may know the area..making no mention of finding anything other than Mabey a piece of broken pottery or some flakes that I may have put in my pocket at home.
I think your site is probably going to look like Disney world or a lunar landscape soon.
They must have done a pretty good job of burying that stuff for you not to notice the ground wasn't compacted like normal.

Sometimes people suck.... every night I looked at those, thinking to myself , " how in the hell did those get so polished???" It's unfortunate.

I have to ask, You can't tell the difference between recently disturbed ground and layered? :icon_scratch:

This a disc field, they have been busting ground and rowing up for the winter since I found the bead. There is no layers of dirt like you would find in an site that as never been touched, they use subsoilers tools that go almost 3ft deep, I never went deeper. I would wait and go hunting after they had turned the soil and it had gotten a rain(it was easy digging). The way I understood this guy it was not the bead, but that I was walking fields that are way in the back that made these guys mad. He said they hunted artifacts off their tractors and was upset that I would almost low crawl looking. What ever I did not get much sleep from this junk last night and I have been called to work today (Have a Good Day).
