Hello all, I found today a couple items that seem interesting. One is brass or copper, resembles a scabbard tip but is 2 1/4" long. Inside it was what seemed like black metal pieces, but ended up being non magnetic, so I don't know.

The second item is lead, about 1 1/4" in diameter, and about 1/8" thick, weighing 18.5 grams. They were found in the same yard, but different areas. Any help with these two would be greatly appreciated.

I think your first item is a buggy brake tip or the likes.

Second one ... is it lead ? if so perhaps a sash / curtain / hem weight.

these surface from time to time and have been ID as several different things... even Civil War era related items... which I am sure they were used then as well.

Thank you AARC, you are very good! The lady that owns the house has a garage/shed where in the middle has a circular floor that spun to turn the buggy or carriage around easily, so your buggy brake is probably spot on correct.. the other lead item, once you mentioned "sash weight", certainly resembles the pics I found on the web. Yes, you are very good, thank you!

I edited, putting the pics on the bottom of the post, so the text is more legible.

Brass item could be tip to a cane. Lead item is a window or sash weight

I am not 100% sure but I believe the second item... If it's made of lead.... Would be a hem weight.. They were sewn into the hem of dresses to help keep the wind from blowing the dress around...
