i have posted these before but i am showing them again now so a new good friend of mine can view them since i am having trouble with my email IMG_0726.webpIMG_0727.webpIMG_0728.webpIMG_0729.webpIMG_0730.webpIMG_0731.webpIMG_0732.webpIMG_0733.webp
the first is a coup stick with a image of a badger? and a papoose in a cradle board with it's hands sticking out and a feather in the head
second is a crane(?) effigy complete with handle
in 25 years i know of only 6 or 7 of these being found on this site with this being the only one i know of that is unbroken

Lars!!!! I remember those. Beautiful. Hope you and Rusty and the wife are beating this heat. I know you are sitting watching the crops grow : )
 

scotto that makes very good sense.....also you asked what would that birds head used for?.....
.....it has been said that they were porcupine quill processors.....that is "quill flatteners" getting ready for inlaid quill work...

Very interesting! You learn something new every day. Just amazing pieces.
