Can anyone help me identify this button? I haven't been able to find any information about it anywhere. I've seen some with a similar eagle but the backmark is the thing stumping me. The backmark is United States MFG Co. It also has a ring of dots below the name. I believe it's from the Indian Wars but that's about all I know. Metal is unknown and i haven't measured it. Can anyone help me identify and possibly value this? Thank you so much.

United States Button Company produced between 1865-75 and was later purchased by the Waterbury Co.
I find no BMs with 'Mfg' listed in Tice.
I have several button BMs which are not listed by him, for example '***United States*** .
hope someone else can enlighten you :dontknow:

You are correct about it being post civil war. You can tell by the position of the wings and the raised shield.
