Unknown Stone Carving!!!

[/color] I found this while Hiking out by this creek. Its by far coolest looking thing ive found so far! Pictures don't do it justice! There is an old elephant looking carving. You can't tell from the pics but its looks almost like petrifide wood, with all the straight lines in the rock and elephant craving. I have no clue what this is but its for sure COOL!

Sorry, but it just looks like a random rock to me. Either the pictures are no good, or you are seeing things where nothing exists.

Hi, as a stone carver I was really keen to see this, but even though have studied the pix till my eyes go blurry, I can't see any carving. Nuggy

You have a very vivid imagination.......

Ya aah!....I can see some sort of a figure of what may be a depiction of some sort of animal figure maybe but, I can't really be sure because of how you chose to photograph that rock or what ever that is. :dontknow:

Thanks for posting. I think you need to keep looking.

Are the edges sharp? I don't see an elephant but it may be a crude hide scraper...

What type of Cam do you have

Looks like a nice rock specimen. Is it translucent? Might be some type of chert. Perhaps you can post it on the gem/mineral forum and get better feedback. I'd have to be taking some type of psychodelic to see a carving on that though :tongue3:
