Has anyone ever bought an "unsearched" coin roll? I just bought one on eBay that has a 1946 dime on one end and a 1902 Indian head on the other. I figure ill break even with those I just want to see how "unsearched" rolls do. Its shipping now and ill post the results later on this week. POST YOUR EXPERIENCES BUYING UNSEARCHED ROLLS.

I do believe this coin to be not natural toning maybe acid or some other method. Also look at my feedback and bid with confidence!! If for any reason you feel that you can not leave a 5 Star feedback please contact me with any issues so we can resolve them.

Who has attacked you? "I dont understand...." Was the harshest thing said. If that hurt your feelings I would stop corresponding on the internet because that is a 1 on a 1-10 scale.

I didn't attack you or anyone else in this thread, but I do the same as you are: I buy stuff because I like it, not to make a bazillion dollar profit on it (if I can make a profit on it, that's just a bonus). Yesterday at a flea market, I paid $37 for a decent looking Stone Mountain half dollar. Did I pay more than what it was worth? Probably; but I'm okay with it. It's my money to use as I see fit, and it's a coin I have always wanted.

I hope there are more good things inside other than the enders, ckrakowski.

I wish this thread would just be supportive of pennynoob for making a purchase he/she wanted to and not just call him a dumb*** and say how much money they wasted.

Unsearched estate coin rolls are a scam 99.99% of the time.

We know that, and I think OP knows that now after all the flak they have gotten over this. All that matters at the end of the day is if pennynoob is happy with what they bought.

They asked for opinons, not insults.

Just my 2 unsearched-straight-from-a-big-old-estate-rolls-of cents.

Note: this post is not directed towards anyone in particular and I don't want anyone to feel I'm stepping on their toes with this; it's just kind of frustrating reading this and feeling the hostility in everyone's posts.

I think it was just because ckrakowski wanted a flying eagle cent and the chance at something else cool, and (how your post reads) you implied that there is nothing of value there just because the coin is holed and it's another "estate roll", so there can't be something in there worth anything.

Again, I will add the disclaimer that I'm not trying to be a jerk or get anyone to hate me, as I respect everyone that's commented in here so far. Joe777Cool you seem like a cool guy (pun intended), but I'm just trying to help with the animosity of this whole thread and I want to assure you I'm not trying to be rude to you.

What I was trying to say is the flying eagle cent has a hole drilled into it - that makes it next to worthless, I dont think anyone would dispute that. I share the majority opinion about these rolls - I dont see the point in buying a roll like this but I'm not going to beat a dead horse. I still dont believe anyone was attacked and I dont see any animosity (except by the poster) - no offense taken and none intended by me.

it is such a coincidence that all these different sellers have been to these estate sales and bought these penny hoards.

may i ask WHERE IS THIS ESTATE YOU SPEAK OF!??!?!?

also, if it is sold at an estate sale how do you know that it wasnt searched by the person at the estate, (<<implying he actually bought it at an estate)

i have decided i will not post what i find. i will not post because of the amount of people who jumped down my throat and basically made fun of me for buying this. i do not think i should have been treated as i was.

You threw the idea up on the thread asking for input, thats what you got. Sorry if you didn't like it but its the truth those rolls are scams. I myself have bought "unsearched" buffalo rolls before from fleebay, but that was just based on the fact I had nick a date and was hoping to get some decent dateless ones. Think about it logically for a second. If you or anyone reasonable stumbled upon a bunch of rolls at an estate sale with seated dimes or flying eagles on the end would you open them or quickly sell them....Point proven

Ckrakowsku, what were you expecting the reaction to be? You have been on here 4 years, over 700 posts - what is ALWAYS the reaction to unsearched Ebay roll posts?

Lol! I hadnt considered it. I have considered selling my own "unsearched rolls" that I inherited from my late grandmother in the tnet classifieds. People apparently like to give money away - might as well get while the getting is good!

What was the free gift? A late 70's clad kennedy? If you paid $10 you lost but you didnt lose your shirt!

Just the fact that the wrong denom coins are in the rolls tells you they are fabricated. Total scam. Yet eBay is cool with it cuz they're making their cut.

I search bank rolls for fun - no downside risk!

Same here!! I just wanted to try it once!
