USS CONSTELLATION!

well I hooked up with JuJu, this afternoon for a second day hunt, hoping his ring stealth would rub off me. Well after he found I dunno 2-3,4 More rings to my $1.00 In Clad we were heading out, but I got a 94 tone reading a dollar, oh what the heck ill dig a can right? holy!@#$ I got home and the coin(token says..) This coin was Struck from the Navys First Frigrate USS CONSTELLATION Being a retired Navy man Myself I know all about the History of that great Frigate, one of the Navys First, I will Clean it up More and keep you posted, thanks JUJU for the Invite, awesome job on those rings......Again!

I served on he Connie too for 18 months in 1966-1967 as an ET3 Radar Tech and I was also a DJ on the shipboard radio-Austin McGregor...lol "Welcome to the USS Constellation, CVA-64, Stairway to the Stars!"

i served on her after she was converted to CV-63. i was an AMH (aviation hydraulic tech. i was ships company aviation quality assurance rep from 1992-1997

I have two of them tokens i got when i was a kid and one of them still has the paper tellin you about the coin.

These tokens were made from the bronze cross spikes from the Constellation and sold for a dollar to fund its restoration. The token was suppose to allow the holder free lifetime admission to the ship which is still moored in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. My father housed all the Constellation's contents in his warehouse during it's restoration. He was given a couple of these tokens and part of one of the original spikes that was not melted down. The man that gave these gifts to my father said the spikes were made by Paul Revere who had a foundry in Boston.
