OK, I'm making up my mind, somewhat. River Rat,TC, and I have been searching and looking for days now for a place where we can all stay. It appears that it's between two places. There was a third (Chalk Bluff) but they do not offer a lot and their rules for deposits, etc are ridiculus. It may be ok for campers but not cabin people.
The first place is Ft Clark, 40mi from Uvalde. Very nice and $40 per night for rooms, $20 for tents.

The next place is Neal's Lodges on the Frio River, 23mi from Uvalde. They have agreed to rent all the cabins we need at $68 (includes tax) for two people to a cabin. Told them we may need 12-14 cabins. Tents, $20. Restaurant open only on wknds. Said we would probably be the only ones there in Oct. Fully stocked store.

So, even though it's early, we need to make up our minds pretty quick. Go completely through these sites and give us your opinions. Majority rules

Neal's has my vote. Need to know pretty quick how many tenters and how many cabins. BEF, are you coming?

Even if the dates are 16-23 Oct...you do not have to be here for those entire days. Come in when you want...leave when you want. But, remember the cabins will have to be a 3 day minimum...not sure if tents/RV require a minimum or not.

I do understand that we will hunt 1 site for a few days and the other site a few days. This is just a hunt, there will be no drawings, door prizes.

WSD will fill you in on this.

Just talked to Neal's again.I told them it may be 30 days before we have a good idea on how many and she said sooner the better.I did go ahead and ask about metal detecting the area and she said that she didn't see a problem with that but I would have to talk to her husband and he is out of town until tuesday.I'll keep you posted.I want someone to provide music for that dance floor,Nana wants to do the Hoochie Coochie,once she finishes that white rum!
