No but the first time I took it at work a couple of years ago it felt like my brain was melting lol, I stopped taking it after failing to quit a couple of weeks later. This time around I was prepared for brain melting and it didnt happen lol, maybe it was I'd been so sick when I started taking it I didn't notice or that I wasn't at my stressful job and trying to think too much lol. I think the first couple of days it is good to be in relaxed environment and will improve the odds of success and decrease side effects. I would worry more about the mental side effects before the physical. I did have vivid nightmares as a side effect.

Thanks for the reply, maybe being prepared for things like that I'll get thru it.

Hell with the motor many of you have bigger problems. In fact I beleive I have the Ram sold. Glad I never took up smoking, close friend and my brother who had to have tripple bypass due to smoking but both are back to smoking and its a matter of time that they both fall over died. Will not listen to nobody. Planning on going out in the morning to do some swinging and vacing. No room for the drywasher as I am bumming a ride as the two other vehicles we have are not off-road vehicles.

Drywallman listen to your body, family, and friends. Amazing what a white peice of crap can do to the body.

Thanks Viper. I shall overcome this stupid addiction and leave myself plenty more years of chasing that pretty yellow metal.

I watched my Mother die horribly due to cigarette smoking, I would not wish that on my worst friend!

A tree falling on your TRIUCK! I would not be happy about that and I park in similar situations. I will take a closer look around the next time.

The engine in my chevy LUV was so bad it would not pull up a hill so my son had to walk, coming out from a back packing trip.

I broke my leg AND severely sprained the ankle of the same leg while hiking in with an 85 pound pack. Not a well used road so I hiked out pack and all. Oh, a half hour before I started hiking out I took two tylenol with codeine pills left over from my knee surgery. The old meds still work!

Going way back, we hiked out from a canyon trip and my M38-A1 jeep engine would not start up and stay lit. And prior to that in the same vehicle we were headed up to the mountains and the rings started breaking on the pistons. Oh, the reason the rebuilt engine would not run properly was I painted the inside of the 24 volt military distributor cap. Paint does not conduct well!!

So nothing real big......................63bkpkr

I've had vehicle breakdowns, embarrassing and disastrously sudden public diarrhea attacks (I'd recount that tale but it's too graphic and horrifying- *shudder*), and a number of issues.

Perhaps the funniest was the time I drove almost fifty miles to dig at a favorite site. I'd prepared everything: extra batteries, sandwiches, digger, dig clothes, bottles of water, a US Coin Redbook for those 19th century coins I was hoping to find, etc.

So I arrived onsite and went around to the trunk of the car to get the detector out.

D'oh!

@drywallman
Good luck on giving up.... I have drinking buddies that just can't...or don't want to, but then you have had the wake up call and they haven't...yet.
I went cold turkey because 12yrs ago there wasn't much else, although I did self hypnosis and it worked a treat, and also after 12 months I was tempted...but had a back up plan, and that was if ever tempted, was, the first drag to make it a good lung full! I coughed so hard and long that I spewed up my dinner......never again!

Worst trip I had was hitting an iron bar on the road which some how punctured the front left tyre, spun out the back and took out the right rear.....and I only carry 1 spare and in the middle of no where...
Cheers

Hows it going drywallman you recovering from the surgery ok, and did you get the chantix ok?

Recovering well, I went back to work today, though only long enough to line my guys out on a couple jobs, and turn in payroll. The pharmacy needs a special dr authorization for the Chantix. So I'm hoping I'll have it in another day or two. I'm using the hell out of one of these e cigarettes and have limited the real ones to just a few a day.
Thanks for asking, I'm itching to hit the creek, gonna try to go this weekend for a few hours.

Cool, I found the best ecigs were called Xo2 they were hard to find though, 711 had them then stopped carrying them, the Enjoy brand seem to have more nicotine (which I liked) than the Blue ones but the blue "hit" more like regular cigs which is nice. Thats my official Ecig review you didn't even ask for lol. Good luck.

.

My wife Karen quit using Chantix. Be sure to look at their site for a one time coupon. Sometimes the state you are in has coupons/info for quitting. If all else fails a little chew goes along way...for me anyway.
Good luck and good hunting!

Just a little update, got tired of waiting on dumb asses to approve the Chantix, and had been staring at nicotine patches in my bathroom for a week. I simply decided I wasn't going to buy anymore cigarettes Thursday on the way home from work, instead I slapped a patch on my chest. Still taking a puff here and there from the ecig for the tough moments, but so far, so good. Coming up on the first 72 hours and it ain't killed me yet :-)

Just so you know, make SURE you don't go to bed with the patch on. Nightmares on that stuff are not pleasant! Good going and keep up with it!

That's funny when I saw thread I almost asked about smoking. Good job, I can't remember exactly how long it's been 2 months I think. I still crave them several times a day but I had some health scares like yourself and that is main motivating factor for me. I've been eating too much but I was little underweight so it's not a problem yet...
Isn't it weird how they don't give the chantix at a decent price, it seems it would be a no brainer for insurance company to save themselves money later. For the $200 they save people from many smoking related ailments that will cost them way more later on, assuming 30-40% success rate I guess it would be more like 500 per successful quit, but still. Keep it up DWM!

Thanks MM, doing good do far! Tomorrow is a week, and still holding strong. Now I gotta get out and dig some gravel before that kills me :-)

Thanks for the updates drywallman, you're an inspiration I have the patches in my nightstand just can't slap one on. They worked once before for me 17 years ago but I started back up shortly after. My problem is I really don't want to quit just know I should. Guess it will take a medical issue to punch me in the gut.
Anyway sounds like it is working keep going!!
