War of 1812 Button WOW! Check out the "AFTER" Picture!!

I got out for a couple hours yesterday to my new favorite field...same field I found the two old shoe buckles the past couple weeks. I stuck to a part of the field I hadn't hunted before and didn't have very high hopes for...high in the field and close to the road. The first target was a first for me and something I've been looking for since I started detecting. Ramrod guide. Nothing special I know but I love digging musket parts and this is one that can now be crossed off the list. Second target was just a couple feet from the ramrod guide and was a War of 1812 Royal Fusiliers 7th Regiment of Foot officer's button...another one to cross off the list. It's actually in much better condition than the pictures show. Lot's of other targets but these two stand out!

He died in 1804 so you definitely have an 1812 button unless he was making them from the grave.
