I've used White's for 20+ years. So busy these days i rarely get a chance to hunt. Anyway, went to a site we beat to death years ago and was planning to just learn my explorer. Well, when I started digging really deep signals and they were goodies I realized there was more at this old site. I tweaked and saved a program and dug signals the whole time there. My poor buddy wasnt getting any signals with his DFX. I'm not kidding when I say some of these targets were over 15" deep. In fact, the first few I thought were phantoms. But not!

When I get more time, I am heading back. This site is just 15 minutes away. I'll tweak the explorer a bit more if possible. Only my 3rd short hunt with it and i am more than just a little impressed.

Wow can't wait to see what you find when the testing ends and the real hunt begins. :laughing9:

Great finds

That's a lesson you learn pretty quick... If it's a decent tone keep digging because there's probably something other than iron down there.

I wish I was a DFX user! :laughing7: (I'd have so many sites to go back to with an explorer)

You will love that Explorer. I am amazed how I go to places that have been hunted out and almost always manage to find a few good items.

Good luck

hey now i resent that comment dfx and not finding deep targets i have been hitting some 12-16 inches before the ground frooze i found a decaying crank phone the wood was about gone but i have all the hard ware

haha. not personal attack on whites but it was the truth yesterday. i called my buddy over to see if he could get a signal for a few targets and he had to work like heck to get any signal at all. could have been the nut at the wheel but thats the honest truth.

i have 2 dfx's and an xlt so i am still a whites man...

but minelab has my full attention at the moment...yesterday was very inspiring.

Yeah right? I wasnt expecting to find much of anything. Looking forward to going back.

The bay gives you many more Colonial artifacts that are making me drool. The cut silver is the best find of the day, but those ornate shoe buckle pieces are getting my passion high. Thank you for sharing early Maryland history.

This was actually on the ocean side. Where the sandy soil causes the items to sink really, really deep. This site produced some crazy ornate beauties. I think it will produce a few more now! There have been at least a dozen cut spanish found on the site. I found 2 in one day a few times here.

I def gave up on at least 1 target. Wont do that again but when the hole is 18" deep and you've under cut the sides by nearly a foot, you think there is no way it can be a real target.

This post has made me stop and think about a new detector ! Excellent test run ! MaineRelic

Great hunt, glad the new mine lab is treating you right

Very nice! I'm sure a lot of your old sites will begin producing again!

Minelabs are high tech machines.

Congrats! Finds like yours is why I got my minelab.
