Weekend finds

Got out a couple of times over the weekend and had the best hunts I have had in a while. The button is a Confederate manuscript artillery and my first of this style. Included is a reference photo from Albert's button book. My friend Mark invited me to a plantation spot where it was found. On another hunt I recovered this "John Knechtle Hilton Head SC " bottle from an old dock in a muddy area. The bottle was manufactured between 1862-65 according to bottle experts, but it has a small crack in it

The pipe was found at same site and has a good portion of the stem intact and looks to be late 17 to early 1800's. Pipes are one of my favorite things to find due to the wide variety!

Thanks for the comment but you may have me confused with another Keith as I have never gone to DIV---But I do wish you luck there and I also enjoy your posts!
