I haven't posted on here in a while because it seems like a lot of people have been trying to tell other people what to keep, and how to search, and all that stuff. Well I don't really listen to any of you guys in that aspect because I have a system that works out for me, yet it isn't a "normal" way of searching. I still find silver this way, and more that a lot of the low volume hunters do. Picked up at a dump bank today, scored almost 3 oz of silver. Plus my first foreign silver. More mercs than rosies at that. 38 American silver dimes (26 of which are mercs), and a 1867-1967 canadian dime. (not sure if it is 50% or 80%). This all came from 3 rolls (cwr), which were saved for my, by a teller at my dump bank, who knows about silver. I went against tons of rules on this one: don't tell tellers about silver (first of all she already knew, I just told her I collect them), don't pick up at dump banks (which I did), "buy them all" (which I didn't because the rest were mwr and those usually aren't worth the effort for me). Just goes to show you that rules are made to be broken. I think there should only be 1 CHRing rule, Don't be an A-hole to tellers. That is the only rule I go by, and I have never been cut off from banks, and usually the tellers hold good stuff for me if I ask them to.

P.S. sorry for the bad quality photo...my camera on my phone isn't the best.

Nice finds red89!

Why the manifesto? Why not just a nice story with the pics? Nice cull. HH

If you're finding silver, you're winning! Do your thing, Brother!!!

That's funny, I do the exact same thing as you! Now I feel cooler knowing I'm breaking some sort of CRH rule!

don't tell tellers about silver (first of all she already knew, I just told her I collect them) - so you didnt tell her about silver, no rule broken

don't pick up at dump banks (which I did) - never seen that one, I know I have found a ton of silver mixed in with dumps, no rule broken

"buy them all" (which I didn't because the rest were mwr and those usually aren't worth the effort for me) - only applies to half dollars, no rule broken

Sorry, despite your best intentions of being a rebel it doesn't appear you broke any rules. good luck next time

as far as telling the tellers about silver, a lot of CRHers say to never mention silver, which i did, so according to them i broke a rule

the dump bank thing is also a common thing...a lot of people say not to pick up at your dump bank.

"buy them all" means exactly what it says, buy them all, it doesn't apply just to half dollars

I'm not trying to be a rebel, and don't put words in my mouth. According to all the new people on here, like yourself, as well as some older members these are part of some unwritten "code" within CRHing. I've had people send me messages after some of my older posts that tell me I am screwing things up for other CRHers. People on this site within the last few months or so have been acting like know-it-alls. All that I am saying is that no single set of rules apply country wide.

The rule is don't tell tellers about silver. However, if the teller knows about it, no harm can be done, you may only gain. For picking up at your dump bank, that applies mainly to boxes and ordering. I pick up CWR at my dump bank, they usually want to get rid of it anyway. As far as taking all that they have, it is your choice. Recently, there was someone who found a quarter eagle and a bunch of silvers in an MWR.

Your post and even title suggest you are looking for an argument so dont be suprised when u get one!

I know you are but what am I..LOL Nice score man...keep it up! I get CWR from my dump bank and get silver nickels and dimes ALL THE TIME. I mark all my rolls and the banks just give me other CWRs, not my old ones!

Stick to your guns rebel man!!! I know I will!! We are rebels that like to buck the trend and to heck with all you conformers!! 8-)

My dump banks make you dump any coin in the sorters-they won't take rolls

I'm the baddest rebel of all. I've no Facebook account.

Thats just being smart!

I didnt have a cell for over 2 years, but with all of my new banking hobbies, It was needed, so I broke down and got a trac(k) phone at the beginning of the year.

Have you ever had a Smart phone? Is that trac a smart phone? Seriouly, get a smart phone if you dont have one. If you are worried about being traced, don't worry, you already are.

Being able to google bank phone numbers - Listen to a life podcast - Read the forum - check the spot price - post a Craigslist ad - make a ebay bet.

You can get this for about 25 a month through many of the discounted carries. You can get a old smart phone as well. 80 bucks is that I sold my used, but working perfectly andriod for.

peace
