I think that the dozed house site is finally done everytime I go i graph off the area 2 times. Today I found 3 wheat pennies 1909 1918 D and a 1944 also found a aluminum toy skull ring, A heart pendant with flowers and hearts on it A aluminum tag which I thought was a dog tag but it turned out to be some type of tea tag. ?? A copper ring that a quarter fits in perfect.. And a Playboy keychain piece.... I've noticed a couple fights that I dig around here have lots of oyster shells with holes cut all in them what's up with that??

Great finds, congrats! Your oyster shells were probably drilled for button or bead making. That skull ring is cool. Happy hunting, Sub 8-)

Nice old wheaties. Picture 5 is obviously my ex-wife.

House teardowns can be really interesting to hunt. Most of my silver dimes come from recently Vacated lots.

Nice job, Keep working it.

Great stuff!....I would keep hitting that place until NOTHING is left in the ground

The tag you found is from a hybrid tea rose plant. The better roses come with a fancy aluminum tag.

neat finds! nice array of goodies. :D

Nice variety of finds! Hopefully more will show up in future hunts.

Subterranean is right. Those shells were drilled out to make buttons, the buttons resembled pearl buttons. We got into a bunch of them in Nashville years ago and sold a lot of them on e-bay. You would be wise to get all of them that you can find.

cool skull ring. I need that.

Great finds but change the camera angle! Thanks for sharing...

The shell is from a freshwater mussel (clam), not an oyster, and they were indeed drilled for blanks to be used in the manufacture of shell or "pearl" buttons. I have a huge one with 14 holes found while digging bottles. They are really neat.

Cool finds ! I wonder if the skull ring could be a crackerjack prize (or is it too edgy for that ?)

How old are the shells that are like that?
