I'll have to make this post quick because my fingers are still slightly numb! I just got back from my parents after feeding my face most of the day. I honestly had no intention of detecting but I threw the SE in the car as always when I head out of town. After eating turkey we watched the Packers game ...visited...then I decided to head home. By then it was only an hour from getting dark. Well on the way home I passed a small town and figured what the heck...so I decided to hit the old ball diamond that was used in the 40's and 50's. I just needed a quick fix and a few wheaties would have been fine but I ended up doing pretty well. Sorry for the quick post but seriously I'm still unthawing and just plopped the goodies on the scanner without even cleaning them.
I got an hour in before darkness hit and the second hour it was almost totally dark and I started getting pelted with snow! ;D
Ended up with a gorgeous sterling silver band which is very ornate...2 Injuns 1892 and 1907....a 1923 merc...a cubscouts pin... 12 wheaties...2 very old buttons...and 8 frozen fingers...thumbs...not sure but I guess they're still there....just numb. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Hey Bryce, you can always watch my video instead to get your fix. ;D ;D

I know, it doesn't compare to diggin your own up. You've got the obsession like me. You did very well considering your short hunt and the cold, stormy weather. Conditions are great by me. ;) Okay, I won't rub it in anymore.

Hope you're all thawed out by now.

Congrats on the nice finds and silver! Detecting in the snow and cold is a way of life for some of us this time of year, LOL. HH, Mike

SF,
What a fantastic quick hunt. Well worth freezing, that's for sure. ;)
Congrats on the silver, IH's, ring, and buttons. I'd make a trip make to that spot.
Great job.

Nice digs, my friend! You have that SE mastered!

Favre kicked some a$$ today!

BDD...Kirk

Its all over for the pack on thursday! Farve will NEVER win in texas stadium. Not thursday, not in January in the NFC champ game when dallas goes on for revenge on the puck Ass pats!
Just sayin........

Good work! You gotta take advantage of those opportunities!

excellent finds in such bad weather and time of day ! congrats silverfreak ;)

Very nice finds SF----You got that silver monkey off your back again.
Now , as the ground freezes, we must prepare for metal detector withdrawal.
Thanks Merf. Yes...the withdrawals will set in before long.

Nice Haul of silvers and other coins. I will be going out tomorrow hopefully will do as good as you did.
Hey where is the picture of the 8 frozen fingers have never anything like that.
LOL...
Metal Detecting is good anytime to hunt.
Thanks Bull.
I had no gloves...and a thin coat so it wasn't pleasant. I kept trying to keep my left hand in my pocket and my right hand fingers curled under as I held the detector to swing...but it didn't go so well.

Thanks Dan.
Trusr me I've already viewed that video a number of times ;D. I believe that's one of the reasons I went ahead and threw the SE in the car before I went to my parents. My fingers are still a little cold this morning ::)
