Chainmail links need to be linked together... opened and then closed by rivets.

BUT, rings like these were sewn to leather or linen canvas to make armor (armour).

So, if you guys find a hundred at a time... :laughing7: it's armor, not ring money.


BTW on the legal/museum archeologist thing with the Celtic ring money... all he had to do was prove he dug it out of a bank. :wav:

They wouldn't much use as chain-mail, they are over a inch in diameter, and as for ring money ::) I'm not even going there. These rings would have had many uses, Cru has posted one and I think most were horse tack related :icon_thumleft:
