I've hunted 40 years, started with a Fisher M-SCOPE and have owned and used other Fishers, Whites, Teknetics, Compasses, Micronta, homemade BFO rigs, VLF and TR machines I can't recall the brand names. They will all bring home the bacon if you do your part. All have weaknesses and strengths. I now hunt with a old Wilson Neauman Usika 4000 exclusively, it is great in trash and hot on gold rings, turning in rock solid stability. I rigged up 2 new handles for it, as the original factory handle was a tad short for me, it only punches down around 7 inches in wet soil, but I have used it successfully for CW relic hunting. I dig a lot of tabs, but I get the gold rings others discriminate out. It gets 100 hours on 2 9v akalines, and does me well. I'm looking for an old Daytona as a backup. Good luck & good hunting!
