old detector

I use a Jetco GTX Huntmaster model 0770, same one I've had since the 70's. ?Mostly to dig up trash of course. ?Found a gold ring once with it, otherwise just recent vintage coins (around 2-4 inches deep). ?It's probably time to step up to a more recent unit, thinking about a White's. hehe -- Update now have a Whites DFX. What a difference!

I had a viking 5 but unfortunately it broke. Now im looking to get a cheapo.

Used a Bounty Hunter Lonestar for thirty hours last month which was my first experience detecting. Just 'upgraded' to a Fisher 1270 but haven't taken it out yet. I've heard it's a great machine and it's mostly relics I'm finding (Fisher 1270 is designed for relic hunting). The Lonestar worked very well, so the Fisher ought to please me!

I'm still using an old Fisher 1235-x detector. It's done alright for me, but I hope to buy a new one (maybe a 1270) next year.

Fisher & Minelab

Fisher CZ 3d & I D Edge & Minelab SE Pro & Garrett AT Pro.
Detector Pro Uni Probe and a big digger..

;D Minelab Explorer 2 and an older Whites, have used Fisher,Compass,AH pro,Garrett,Bounty Hunter over the years to test them out. Like the new Minelab but still will use the Whites also.

I use the fabulous Troy ShadowX5, it is light, very powerful and very sensitive to the smallest and thinnest hammered coins. I use the 7 inch open centre /polo coil as opposed to the spider coil, it really does produce the goods. I know it is an old cliche but it really is finding stuff that my other detectors have not been able to find on fields that I have detected on for years. Yes you might say that with each new plough finds come to the surface and I agree but some of the fields have been untouched for years and I have been over and over them more often than not with a? new detector that claims to ferret out new finds from deeper. If I could pick a fault with it, there are too many buttons that whilst they look good don't actually seem to do what they say in the field.

I think the Silver Sabre had the right idea, Knock out most iron at between 0-2 (except large pieces) and then find treasure >>> simple! It was and still is an excellent machine but unfortunately lacking in depth.

I also have a Cortes a Powermax II a Spectrum and a Newforce 1

Two White's DFX's, one with standard coil and one with BIGFOOT coil.

Does ANYBODY use MP3 Pro or MP3 at ALL????? I haven't seen 1 single person sayin they use MP3 .... Is it not a good machine becuz i wuz gunna buy the MP3 Pro next month????!!!!! ??? Joshua
