1795 $10 eagle

But I'd Prefer a bucket full , so I could keep one for awhile.

because at $40,000 If I only found one, I'd sell it within a week no doubt

I would be happy with anything 1800s, but one of my goals is to find something in the 1700s. I mostly just find things 1920s and up.

My dream coin, is finding a nickel based 3 cent coin, I've found two silver composition ones.

Mike

P.S. I'd also like to find the 1909s vdb that a coin star ate :(

I haven't found any of them yet Either.

I found 2 5-cent Shield Nickels, which
I believe are the same composition just the 3 cent nickel is slightly smaller.

Having been detecting for 35 years this is a good questions. I've found all the Barber denominations as well as Seated coinage after finding a seated half dime this year. I've found all the large cent types from 1797-1857 as well as all the 20th century coins. I've found half, one and two reales so far this year as well as NJ, CT, Machins, George II and George III coppers. What would I like to find. How about an 1822 $5 gold piece? http://images.pcgs.com/CoinFacts/8130_37657492_2200.jpg I know that's not likely so what would I really like to find where the possibility does exist.

1. New England silver piece, shilling, 6 pence or 3 pence.
2. New Jersey copper with date under plow beam.
3. Higley Copper.
4. Connecticut copper with reverse figure facing right.
5. Chain cent.
6. Any bust silver coinage.

I know, I have high hopes, but you never know. I went to check out a new spot for a club hunt last week. After the owner agreed to a club hunt and getting permission I checked the site for about an hour. Dug 10 items to make sure it wasn't going to be a waste of time. One of the first items was a 1782 One Real. The last item was a 1888 Seated Dime. Neither was expected, but you never know. BTW, it should be a great club hunt with over 100 acres to detect.

Well there's always the elusive gold coins and the super rare coins highly unlikely to find but my coin that's a possibility is the 1916 booby quarter. I think the story behind that quarter is funny. To have a nation so anal that the mere sight of lady liberty's breast brings them close to snapping their sphincter muscle makes me laugh. Sure I could buy one but pfft what's the fun in that.

Dream coin found. :laughing7: :

Older than 1700's and 20% silver.

My new dream coin is a big silver. :tongue3:

I love precious metals - it's honestly what got me into the hobby.

I made a good deal of money with Bitcoin, and some of that went into buying silver. I discovered that I really liked having a nice pile of silver in my safe, so I started picking up a few rounds every month. For detecting, I particularly like tot lots. I'm still working toward my first full ounce of "found" silver, but I'll get there.

Any and all silver is nice. If it ever happened to be a gold coin, i would probably scream like a little girl!!!

ANYTHING Seated!!...I know they are here...I just cant seem to find one....or a LC would be great

My dream coin is an early silver dollar.....I know, keep dreaming!

Fountain Of Youth... or fountain of rum

I crossed large cent off my list this summer

So next is any reale

Any gold coin regardless of date or size

Any draped bust

I want the legendary 50 pound gold coin that Pizarro made from Aztec gold

Spanish gold escudo. I'm in a fairly good location for such a thing, I just gotta get out and find it. :icon_thumright:
