Prospecting
My Mom has been bugging me about what I want and I really couldn't think of much. She said "What? You don't need mining equipment??? How about a hundred bucks?"
Well now, that got me thinking. I prioritized it to get as much bang for the buck as I can.

Screen for pump (homemade using hardware cloth)
Pick
Sledgehammer
Rock ID book (any thoughts on which one?)
Hand suction dredge
Miller table
Back vac

How about you?:dontknow:

Dear Santa,
For Christmas, I would like the following:

• Gold Cube
• '05/6 Nissan Xterra or '04/5 Suzuki Grand Vitara
• more club memberships
• get my wife into prospecting
• rich virgin land that nobody knows about
• 4 Snappy Grip bucket handles
• more days in a week

I've been really good this year. Promise.

all I want for Christmass is a sole winning Powerball ticket this Sunday morning! that way I can repay myself for ALL of my lottery tickets for the years I bought and lost! I just hope I atleast could break even on what ive spent!:) maybe world peace would be more realistic??
On recalculating my costs on lotto I found that I need to change my "wants" for Christmass! I need both the sole winning Powerball and Megabucks tickets to break even on what ive spent! AND on the same day!:)

H-2 Charlie,

What is you plan for the blower? The reason I ask if you plan to use it for a Vac-Pac the engine being a 4 stroke may not be a good choice. If the blower is for around the house or for a dry washer your good to go. Turned on its side for a Vac-Pac the engine will not get lubricated and will seize up. Two stroke engines will run in any position due to the gas/oil mixture. Just a heads up...

AzV. I believe this unit can be turned on its side says some info I have read on it .
I'm going to use it for home blowing and my 151 washer . Not a crack dude .
No stink smell of 2 stroke , no premix saves money and no gummie carbs from sitting .

AZ, I was wondering the same thing. Good tip!

H-2...I've tried every snow thrower starting with the cheapest and did the same thing with blowers. Definitely get what you pay for and that sure looks like a winner. Personally, I wound up with a Stihl and no regrets.

I have yet to smell the 2 stroke Echo and like any other motor there is care involved. Whether 2 or 4 stroke one should drain the fuel tank, then run the engine until the engine dies before placing the blower in storage.

Jeff, the Makita and the Stihl are great products and I would jump at either one if they offered the simplicity of mounting to bulkheads/lid and used as a vac. Because they don't, I don't bother. I am sure I could make either work with some thought and engineering but the Echo works like a charm and works either as a blower, vac, or drywashing blower once the the echo is attached to the lid. The 6 machine screws hold the outer bulkhead to the lid while the 3 stainless screws hold the finger guard, bulkheads, and lid to the blower. Very simple and secure.

Now back to the thread at hand. I would like for myself and all others to be healthy, enjoy their love ones, live each day as if there is no tomorrow, have a good time, and be grateful for what you got because tomorrow is a mystery.

I want a Ground Penetrating Radar Unit.

I want a Ground Penetrating Radar Unit.

From Wiki:

GPR has many applications in a number of fields. In the Earth sciences it is used to study bedrock, soils, groundwater, and ice. It is of some utility in prospecting for gold nuggets and for diamonds in alluvial gravel beds, by finding natural traps in buried stream beds that have the potential for accumulating heavier particles.

I like:thumbsup:

Well I'll just have to revamp my Christmas list here to include a pill that will give me the collective knowledge of Clay, Bejay, Hoser John, Hefty1, AzViper, Lanny and many MANY others here on T-Net that I've learned so much from since joining the site. It is a rare thing to have so many gifted individual with a willingness to share their knowledge come together in a single place to do just that.

I agree! This site is special when it comes to forum-based sites. I've been a member of many in the past and TNet has been my favorite so far! -Luke

Who is the owner of this site?

Now that Christmas has come and gone, what did eveyone get?

I got a sifting pan set, Self contained water table with pump, 2 LBS of paydirt, one new pan. The dirt had 1.52 Grams of gold with a .82 nugget! Afew other smaller items in the mix as well. Overall a very good Christmas. Great family gathering, great meal and the company of the ones you love!

VPR

P.S. I have pulled another .1 Gram of gold out of my saved black sands so far with the table:headbang:
