I'll save my comments for the future owners, but I see you've already started by removing the World News and Events forum.

Hallelujah! :icon_sunny:

How many posts did you have there?

I say good riddance! It was just a breeding ground for corrosive exchanges of verbiage.

Exactly. Now we can focus on what we have in common: The desire to recover Treasure.

Amen brother!

Marc I will miss you as owner when this sells! I hope there will be only few changes by whoever the new owner/owners will be! But keep being a part of T-net! :notworthy:

Considering that I had it on ignore for two years, and only posted there for two weeks, Not Many! How bout you? :D

Also consider that the worst of the arguing occurred probably over the last two weeks. You were in the thick of it, deny all you want. The truth is, we all argued too much and we were all wrong for doing it.

I made CERTAIN that the worst of the arguing was during the past two weeks. I was tired of how poorly that section of the forum reflected on my hobby!

Have some Cake. :)

Thank you sir for what you have created.
This is the best.
Hope you have fair winds as you travel further.

The problem is, with the Politics forum and World Events gone, the haters will post in the Treasure sections. The reason Politics was created in the first place was to contain the garbage in one area and keep politics and religion out of the mainstream.

Anytime it was found in treasure forums, it was immediately moved to its proper place by the Mods. The problem was that we had members looking forward to posting in politics everyday and we even had at least one member join because of it. And that wasnt good for the sponsors. The only thing that can be done is delete it when it pops up.

You have a good point.
:-\
They might start posting in "My Daily Snapshot" or somewhere . . .
Too bad.

Well, they are not all "haters" and it's not ALL garbage.

Nowhere else can we find the diversity this forum has provided.
The pursuit of treasure seeking is a big tent. Here your specialty
is maximized. Friendly exchange of ideas is open to everyone.

Compare that to the competition. They have a heck of a good
time shooting the breeze if you are "in the clique". That's not my
cup of tea.

I want serious info about all facets of this great hobby. That is
exactly what Marc has done with TreasureNet. He deserves the
credit for this unique forum. Jeff and PBK are superb in their jobs.

I wish them sucess in whatever happens but hope that nobody
dismantles a fantastic forum.

True, its not all garbage and not all haters, but it is controversial. My mom used to say "NO TALKING POLITICS OR RELIGION AT THE DINNER TABLE!" (because it always leads to arguments).

Yes OF COURSE some members will try to influence their religious and political beliefs in the other forums. That necessitated the creation of the Political Forum in the first place. We are going in one big circle here.

Why can't people just stay on topic, or are we talking about such things as the occasional, God bless or thank you Mr Obammy ? :icon_scratch:

Hard to do. :icon_scratch:
Religion and politics are very personal and emotion laden.
You don't get much slack in such discussions.
To question someone's beliefs is playing with fire.

Can you imagine someone actually saying:

"Oh, that's interesting! I never really thought of it
that way. Why, THANK YOU for that insight!" ?

It would take a lot of brotherly love to get to that
level - a graciousness that lasts only about 5 minutes
for me once I leave the church service. Too bad!
