Yeah, that did cross my mind, but lead seems like an odd material for that. But I don’t know much about old stuff so who knows…

I see two spots that are counter-bored...but only one hole. Does the other
spot have a hole that goes all the way through? I'm wondering if it could
be a window latch handle.

Hey! So the other hole does go through. I scratched an area and it looks to be copper or brass. It’s pretty hefty for its size. Very crudely made. Like it was hand made or home casted. It rings up between 29-32 on my Vanquish 440.

Looks like it was either cut off or broken off
The top off of an old copper kettle would be my guess. It would connect to the wire handle to lift it.

Because the Holes are not in a Straight Line, & Apparently 2 Different Sizes , I Believe that was Necessary For it's use.
Like it's Made to be Turned & Adjusted
I'm Unsure if the stem Curves to the Side, Or if that is an Obtical Illusion due to the stem Jutting out of the Base.
Also I'm Highly Doubting it is Lead. Lead is not a Strong Metal for Most Appplications. Unlesss your Fishing or Hunting

Looking closer at the picture it does look as if it's seen some hard use
in it's life. A number of deeper scratches and spots where it looks to have
been hit with another tool, perhaps.

Looks like a piece of a very early version of a swing bar latch... part of the one side.
