My worst car was a 1973 Ford Pinto I purchased in Junction City Kansas in 1979. This thing was constantly breaking down. Water pump blew out, timing belt broke, key ignition slot fell off, I had 60% compression loss in most of the cylinders. It was one bad thing after another. All these problems occurred with less than 25,000 miles.

1976 MG Midget. Pure crap. I had an earlier version, an English Sprite that was much better and it would only start by pushing it. That's how bad the Midget was!

1968 mercury cougar ,hydraulic eyelids let go at 2 in the morning, sequential lights stopped working ,infraction in the windshield so that oncoming cars had 4 lights instead of 2 and finally the drivers seat snapped off the floor after sudden braking .i got a recall notice about the seat a year after i traded it. I HATE FORDS.

Ford Falcon...

Had a lot of brake problems...

Several days after fixing the master cyclinder my wife called my office and said that the brakes failed again...

Being so pissed, I told her that the first person that handed me a $100 bill they could have it...

A co-worker heard me and immediately dropped a $100 bill on my desk before I had time to hang up...

Gave him the car and he needed to have a crankcase tube installed (pre-smog) which was installed incorrectly...it sucked all of the oil from the sump and burned the engine up...

After fixing the engine...he took it into a dealership and traded it in on another used car...

It literally caught on fire in front of the dealership within minutes of the deal being signed... :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

That car was on track to self destruct...

That car brings back some great memories for me... I didn't own it, but the guy who did would pile a ton of us there like a clown car to go to the beach :laughing7:

For my worse car, I would have to go with the Mercedes 190E.. Car handled and ran well, but the engine would always run hot in the summertime.

I bought a 1989 Ford Probe once. I bought it in 2009 for $100, and it lasted for a week before I sold it to a junkyard for $200. That was a horrible car with bad suspension and a bad cooling system.

1974 Ford Gran Torino, 4 door, s**t brown. this car was so rusty, when you opened the trunk you could see the ground and most of the gas tank, the key slot for the key was gone, you could start it with a screwdriver, the bendix on the starter would burn up at least once a month, the suspension was so bad that if you crossed a set of railroad tracks the muffler would catch the rail and tear off, the driver side seat was held in place by a 2x4 wired to the back of the seat and propped in the back window, even after all of this, it still ran great right up until the transmission went out

Never really ever owned a "worst" car. I took care of them, they took care of me, except for a 1966 Dodge A-100 van (mid-engine) 3 on the tree. Kept breaking accelerator cables at the most inopportune times, like when in the middle of shift from 1st. to 2nd. :-\ had to operate carb cable at the carb while shifting and clutching (in heavy traffic) :help:. Also could never figure out why brake lights would come on after I was done driving for the day, I changed master cylinder, completely rebuilt all wiring harnesses, added 12 more grounds to the frame. I paid 200.00 for this vehicle and sold it for 1200.00 to a guy about 3 blocks down on my street and his neighbors called him late at night to tell him that his brake lights were always on. BTW, Chrysler had no idea what was going on either (besides the lights).......NGE

Ivan, you beat me to it. That *#&^!(&$ K Car...I believe Dodge & Plymouth both had one out, we got the Plymouth one. 2 weeks after I got it I was in town and getting ready to pull out from a shopping center, after I got on the street, the car wouldn't go, I could press the accelerator to the floor and it wouldn't go any faster than 20 MPH. Make a turn and back to dealership, by time I was half way there it went back normal. Try explaining that to the mechanic, left it and they checked it out, changed the spark plugs. :icon_scratch: This would happen when the car felt like it wanted to play games with me. And it would always happen to me and no one else. Left from the dealership for the umpteenth time got within 2 blocks and it acted up again...I can't remember if they found the problem or not. We were leaving via Amtrak for DC (dedication of Vietnam Memorial), we parked at the train station & left the keys in the ignition, hoping someone would steal it. We were disappointed to see it still there after 2 weeks. The following week, we traded in for an Olds 98. I had that lemon almost 3 mos!!

 RR

i just loved the way if you parked it on the slightest up hill grade --the way it would lock up --so you had to physically open the door shove it forward to unlock the tranmission while turning the car on * ---ah that frickin POS -- had no power either -- would not go over 55 ieven f you drove it off a tall cliff-- i gave it away ( we had 2 cars when me and the wife that got the K car divorced -- i got stuck with the k car -- she got "her" station wagon --(the one she did not like to drive) --so she drove and wrecked my "cherry" rebuilt 1969 LT type camero instead and traded it in on the K car -- either she was not very bright -- or she was wanting to hose me massively ---which one who knows?
