What is this?

Today I found what looked like a megalodon tooth, but upon closer inspection it appears to be a stone that has a shape that happens to be similar the megalodon.

"Megalodon teeth can become fossilized, resembling stone. This process occurs over millions of years when organic material is replaced by minerals, leading to the formation of a fossil."

Just to be sure, what do you think this is?

You've got a good eye for shape and form, but sadly that one's just a rock.

The holes in it are interesting. If it's a rock, perhaps made when in the mud form before becoming rock. If something organic, perhaps made before it became petrified. If it were mine, I'd investigate a bit what the inside is like before I reached a conclusion as to its identity.

To investigate the inside I'd have to snap it in half right?

If it turns out to be significant, them it would be worthless at that point.

That's what I figured. I was hoping it was a megalodon.
