My wife picked this up at a gift shop. It's a small bowl made of stone, with most of it polished, but the base is not polished. The store didn't know what kind of stone it was, only that it was not fossils. So I thought I'd ask here. There are a few pockets of very small crystals showing, and I guess some of them get polished up as the lighter parts of the stone. Any ideas? Photos taken while holding it in a sunny window.

Polished side first, then unpolished.

I kind of looks like breccia.
After looking at a whole lot of pictures of various type of breccia online, I believe you are correct and that this particular piece is brecciated Jasper. Thanks for the solve!
