It's the spout from a shot flask or shot snake.

That looks pretty close :icon_thumleft:. How long have you been here Lucas, and how many " what is it's" have you got right so far, well done :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumright:.

I'm leaning towards a snake not a flask, because of the long collar. A snake is a long leather tube for shot, that belts around you, over one shoulder and under the other arm.

It would take a liberal amount of alcohol to get me near a snake, btw. :occasion14:

(not that I need a snake as a excuse... :tongue3: )

Great ID Lucas !!
Another onliner describes a similar item like this: An antique black powder type firearm accessory; a shot flask spout.
He presumes the common use of this flask was for carrying birdshot for fowling or bird hunting. The barss spout has an interesting two gate type mechanical mechanism. This allows the user to measure 1 1/4 ounces of shot at present. The spout is also designed so that the gate nearest the spout can also have its location changed so that the spout will measure 1 ounce of shot if the user prefers. The spout may have the markings "1" and "1 1/4" beside the respective slots for the gate piece.
