I think that Y2K stuff is a good one, NASCAR is always a good bet, probably Harry Potter too--- good thinking... I don't have the desire or money to hoard any Gucci bags though!! ;D :D

The original brick and bag-style cell phones.
I second that.

Shoes of all sizes and styles---unworn, of course.

Hard copies of things, especially photographs and music. So much is stored digitally now, but I can foresee a time when people don't have, for whatever reason, all those files they used to.

Old toys, especially Lego's and good condition Hello Kitty stuff. I know, I know, Hello Kitty is everywhere and her products are of shoddy quality, but there is something about "cute" stuff that girls find irresistible.

I don't think sports cards or memorabilia will do well. Beanie babies will similarly suffer. In general, anything that is marketed as a future collectible will not hold its value too well.

Things that we use everyday, if still in great condition, should be ok.

somethings never lose their style -- think of the classics ---things we (humans) have always loved thru the years -- sex ,food, status items , weapons, money , gold & silver--- 200 year old brandy anyone?

The problem is that too many people save them. I was excited to find (in my folks attic) newspapers from the day the Germans were defeated in WWII (V.E. Day) , only to find they were still too common to command a high price.

Still have them (being kept in better conditions than the attic).

Any presidential race material from the losing side, I guess if you collect that sort of stuff the materials from the loser are far more rare as they are usually thrown out. Just a thought.

Not being an American, We Canadians 'do' have a unique insight into elected Socialists and the election promises they keep! I would suspect one of the rarest things you will ever see in the future, will be the list of Obama's 'kept' promises.. :protest:

I agree with VCR tapes, maybe early Disney releases. I'd say cigarette material could be hot with it's popularity dwindling and restrictions increasing. And in this digital age how about cameras, my dad recently went to a one hour photo shop looking for film for his camera and they didn't sell any.
