Why so skeptical? I'm extremely skeptical on this map/photo dowsing but was open minded enough to give you guys a shot. Was even going to share if something was found.

I won't waste your time on the wagon trail or other sites.

FYI, I map dowsed a place but can't get permission to dig so the jury is out. I get no feel from these sites but maybe it is because I have tried and given up on them.

Hey Jr....I guess he does not understand what a ray is and how you know how to find them..Art

When I was a contractor in Ventura, California I recall the city hiring a sub contractor to dowse for clay water pipes under asphalt roads. I was working one day at a house, and noticed a fella dowsing with two copper bent rods and marking the asphalt with upside down spray paint to mark the locations of clay water pipes. I stopped what i was doing went outside and observed for a while. After approaching the man, he said he was taught by an older gentlemen who did this for the county.

Thank You...That type of story has been posted about 100 times. This board has been here since 2002...Art

I am looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I think vor is sincere and will be honest in his assessment when it is over. Please see this thru until there is a definite conclusion.

Wow !!! You sure went to town Okie :) Excellent and now you can just detect and then dig these spots instead VOR to see what comes up :) With all of those marks you could have a lot of fun to say the least :icon_thumright:

It will be up to vor to find the gold. Digging is not easy. How will he do it? Shovel? Backhoe? By himself? Multiple diggers? How many other people will he get involved? What type of electronics will he use to pinpoint the EXACT location to dig? How deep will he be willing to dig? How easy will he give up if there is nothing near the surface? If he brings in others, can he trust them not to doublecross him? What percentage of correct map dowsing would prove it can work? 100% accuracy everytime? 75%? 50%? 10%? 5%? Heck, if you could find gold in one out of ten holes you dig, that would not be bad. Nobody bats 1000. How often do pros shoot holes-in-one? Even the best are not perfect.

I have seen map dowsing work with my own eyes. Does that mean that I have dug up a bunch of treasures? No. I believe it is my own fault. For instance, it does not take more than a handfull of gold to be worth a LOT of money. On Pawnstars they paid a guy $35,000 dollars for one gold coin. It did not even have any provenance. I have dug with a backhoe and I assure you we were not checking each scoop load for gold the way we should have. We were looking for that pot-of-gold or pirate chest. I have no doubt that we dug up and reburied gold.

I am now older and wiser than when I first started hunting. I am taking it a little slower and trying to learn from my mistakes. Do I believe in map dowsing? Yes, I have seen it work. Will vor find gold. It is not that easy, we will see. Read my signature that is at the bottom of all my posts.

I would be checking the targets on my own as time allows depending on the results of the test. Okie had proposed a test that I place some gold or silver at some locations and take a photo and he would identify the targets. Consequently, I am placing a 100 oz. bar of silver and about a half dozen one ounce (actually 26 to 27 gram) gold coins on the ground and taking a photo of test area. Okie and any map dowser are free post where they think the targets are located.

If you are agreeable, I will send you a photo in advance showing the locations. I know that readers will have to trust that you and I are being truthful but at least I will know the true results.

Let me know if OK with you.

I forgot the part where he told you to hide some gold. This would be a great test. I will be glad to be a part of it. I will be totally honest as to the results. Lying would not do me or anyone else any good. I am impressed that Okie is willing to do this. You can PM or e-mail me the test photos. If you know of more people to bring into this go for it. Don't just rely on me.

If vor sends me a photo that he has marked as to where he has hidden the gold we will see if Okie or anyone else can mark on a similar unmarked photo the EXACT location of any gold or silver hidden. Maybe even throw in the depth or other details. I am all for this. As I believe in map dowsing I think it would be a good idea to have a non-believer help verify the results.

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.”
~ Albert Einstein

Ironically, or maybe not, Einstein spend most of his adult life not standing "rapt in awe," but instead trying to solve the mysteries of the world, trying to come up with explanations for those things that fascinated him.

So, are you only interested in using a quote from Einstein to help support your argument, or do you follow his example and try to solve the riddle of dowsing? That's the real mystery here. Why can't dowsers agree on how/why dowsing works, and why is there not more lively and spirited debate between the dowsers as to the truth?

Is it only the skeptics that aren't blinded by unquestioning belief?

Here's a quote for you; "The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible." - Albert Einstein

Ergo, dowsing must have an explanation, but what is that explanation??

Do I have to know anything about a refrigerator besides how to level it, Plug it in and how to turn the dial to adjust the temperature?...The same with Dowsing...Take the rods, find a signal and follow it to the target....That I can do...Art

Think about what you just said, Art. You know how to install a fridge, provide power to/turn on the fridge, and operate the fridge. You don't know about it's inner workings, but you know more than enough to own and operate it. When it's not working, you know it because your Ben and Jerry's melts, so your troubleshoot it. Is it plugged in? Is the outlet dead? Did you pop a fuse? Is the motor running? You can replace the light bulb if it burns out, and you clean it if it gets dirty. You didn't have to go to school to learn these things, because a fridge is a universal object. BUT! You can go to school and learn everything you want about appliance repair.

Can you say the same for dowsing? If not, then your original comparison can't stand on its own.

I have a map dowsing challenge for anyone interested, a pretty easy one. Since Google Earth now lets you access past images, I'd love to post a picture of my property from about 5 years ago, before theconstruction of my home began. The land encompasses about 5 acres and is pretty much square. Using that image, could you dowse where the utilities are now run, without the house and yards to use as reference? I installed the water, sewage and electric lines myself, so I know exactly where they're run. And, I'd be happy to post a current image as well, so your results can be measured by everyone here.

Anyone interested?

I do have one question before I waste anyone's time. Can anyone dowse that really wants to, or do you have to have a certain touch for it to work?
Well..When I gave my classes to FAA students there was always one or two that could not do it..I know that most Dowsers have over 100 milvolts running between their hands...Art
