Whats a good MD for kids?

I have a 7yr old that has fell in love with detecting! It's all he wants to do. I've got a ace 350 and I shorten it up to let him use now. Still a lil big for him to swing. Wish he could use it so that would give me a excuse to buy a new one. Any suggestions??

Can't beat a Tesoro Compadre. I'm not sure if you can shorten it up enough for a seven year old though.

huntin4, again I third the motion for the Compadre or maybe one up from there that offers a threshold tone. You might ask the Tesoro Folks if they could add a couple extra holes in the shaft so it would for sure shorten up enough for your young man..........................63bkpkr

My kids use the garrett Ace 150 - Cheap and light and not bad range. My son was 8 and got a hit by an old Oak Tree at a park. I dug it up and it was 6 - 8 inches deep - 1901 (I think) Indian Head!!!! It's been a while ? ? ? ?
