whats does everybody here do for work?

sniff, I am just a tropical tramp, a bum, a beachcomber. an outcast from society trying to lure one of our lovely gals into going to my secluded tropical island, butttttt, sniff.

I once thought that I had conned La Gypsy gal into going, but no luck, sigh, I am frustrated, the story of my misguided life.

In between times from the necessity of eating, I was a commercial Pilot, US BorderPatrol agent, Assayer, Narcotic investigator, etc., etc.

Pst !!! Wanna reconsider Gypsy? It is really beautiful there, night blooming Jasmine and with "ME" as your escort. WOW !! ! hehehehe

Don Jose de La Mancha

p.s. would love Lisa, Rr, Peachy, dig gal, etc., but they are married, & hubbies might be good shots.

I manage the bakery for NW Missouri State University. I love to cook and spent about 15 years running restaurants. This is by far the most enjoyable job I have ever had. Other then that I am raising 2 girls and trying not to go bald and insane doing it.

I work at a tow yard, but mostly i am a stay at home mom, and professional online shopper. :D ..In my spare time I am going to school to get an associates degree, and taking classes to become an EMT. Im having a mid-twenties crisis and am looking for something challenging and am thinking about joining the Army.

I work as a paid Rescue Tech. (not on an ambulance - on a rescue truck) in Northeast TN. We do everything from running medical response, vehicle extrications, rope, water, cave, etc., etc. rescues. We train heavily in the auto, rope, and water (which if anyone is familiar consists of quite a bit of rope too).

I am an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. I work during the winter repairing and rebuilding turbine powered helicopters that fly during the fire season on contract to the US Forrest and National Parks service. During the summer I am a crew member on the helicopter (Skycrane CH-54, SH-61, or Bell 214 ST.)

We lift a lot of water--more daily than fixed wing aircraft can.

This is my third career and I really love the summer stuff.

Interesting thread...who would guess of others from the forum?

I currently do commercial cleaning. I work for a permanant contracting company sucking dust, grease, oil, and environmental spills at a large steel mill. Very toxic environment that's slowly burying me....dirty, nasty, smelly, disgusting....should be on America's dirtiest jobs!
Was a home warrenty contractor for a lot of years til failing health pushed me out of it....irony? Bad lungs now working to keep everyone else's air clean. Figured I didn't have anything left to lose.

I made cheese for a few years....really loved that job...sorry the plant closed. Pittsburgh's job market sucks. Gonna become a self employed handyman pretty soon the way things are going.

You'd never guess, so I'll tell ya . . .

Statistical data processing; market research survey tabulation.
Survey processing, cross-tabs, and significance testing.

Which reminds me of an interesting story.
My boss, a real statistician, calculated the odds of getting on an airplane
flight when someone was carrying a bomb on that flight.
Although the probability is very small, he was still a bit uncomfortable.
But he also calculated the odds of TWO DIFFERENT people,
unbeknown to each other, both carrying a bomb on board, and THAT
probability is infinitesmally small.
So, HE carries a bomb every time he flies.

I am a research geophysicist for the US Army. I travel around the US and world looking for drug tunnels, assessing levees, and trying to improve the detection of landmines and unexploded ordnance in magnetic soils. I use a lot of really expensive metal detectors to look for UXO. I'm also currently working on my PhD in geophysics. I don't get to travel to as many exciting military bases and locations now that I am focusing more on the theoretical research and my PhD. I also try to raise my three kids well and have some fun hobbies.
