Both from Indiana, one State and one City of Evansville.

I haven't found any real old ones, but did pick up two from 1954 in different sides of town.image.jpg

I don't have a picture but I found one from 2012, one from 2000 and one from circa 1948. I'll try to take better pictures of them and post them.

Dog tax #7000 1953 issued by Harfore Co. Md. Never took a picture of it. Found it on my farm. Frank...
PS: also found some tokens near them.

Found about 54 miles from the town of issue, old farm meadows since 1654,still farmed today 2300 acres. That was quite a travel back then. GOD Bless Chris

My oldest is from Abilene, KS and is a 1909. I thought I had a picture I could use of it but can't find it so I will need to take another one when I get home from work.

Here is a picture I have of my dog tags in a display case. I will take a close up later today.

Here's some of mine.......

P1110814.JPG

My oldest (Top left) is 1881/82 and the second from the left is 1882.
The second one really made my day because of what's on the back.
You see, half of my tags (earlier dates) have C.L.P. on them, which I assumed stood for "Canine License Permit" (or something like that) but never could prove they were dog tags until you see the back of the second tag.......

The front reads
"C.L.P.
78
1882"

Great thread and tags everyone! :icon_thumright:

Couple of years ago I found a City of Detroit dog tag dated 1905 and it had space for only 3 numbers- up to 999. Now in Detroit there are thousands of dogs.

The pre-1900 tags would go for ca. $300 each, would you be interested in letting one or more go?
