When halves come in plastic tube ( $260 worth )

when I ask for halves, and the teller starts coming with plastic tubes, I get excited.

26 free tubes, now I need to fill them with silver.

Every tube had "sorted" written on the top. No silver, dang it!

I asked about other coins - someone apparently got all the quarters in tubes.

Can you imagine if I was handed 26 tubes of silver through the teller window? wet dreams.

still got the tubes, worth $0.60 new at my local coin shop. nice grab, makes a skunk less smelly!

I couldn't see any rims, so I never got excited-excited during the transaction

But, considering, I just came from the coin shop, and ALMOST bought some tubes - this is real win.

I did come away from the C-shop with two coins I am most proud of.

A 58 commemorative totem-pole Canadian dollar
and 67 Howling wolf canadian half.

both for the price of 26 dollars. Paid the 6- dollars with come clad.

I am hooked on this canadian dollar. Has to be the best coin I own. It is standing watch next to my Puget sound arrow head collection.

I guess everybody keeps their stash in something diferent, I see people use the tubes alot, I keep mine in the bigger pill bottles, you can usually ask at walgreens or cvs for a couple at the pharmacy and they'll give them to you free, they work great for my halves and are childproof too. Just figured I'd pass that on if nobody else has thought about it.

It may have chemicals that could be bad for the coins.

I thought about that, but they are new containers, not used ones, now if the material that the bottles are made of are bad for the coin, I'm not sure. Maybe somebody else has tried this before and can chime in. I wouldn't think that in new ones there would be anything harmfull to the coins.
