When you find a 1943 steel penny on the magnet...

do you ask to buy their penny bag? This happened to me twice when I cleaned the magnet. I found the elusive 43 steelie. I was wondering what the penny bag would be? How many of you have done that? Did you get lucky?

I do not bother even asking, one the coin is in the bag, they cannot sell coins off the coin counter. I just consider it a feww steel wheat penny, a bonus to my dump. Can't get too greedy. I once got 3 steelies off the magnet, 2 beat up rusty, and one AU. probrably from 2 seperate dumps.

It's all about the hunt! It may not be a worthwhile effort to some. I guess I'm jaded as I have an entire rolls worth that my teller wife intercepted, what's funny is, there is another teller that should get credit, as she's the one who blocked the "silver pennies".

Yes and no. When there is just 1 or 2, I ignore it, but once there ended up being either 3 or 4 on there (I had cleared the magnet the day previously too) so I knew the bag had to be good. The three I have found came from in the bag... my pick up bank for bags doesnt have a mag. on their coin counter
