I'm putting the final touches on my RH. I'm using a 51" Keene sluice, tubs, bucket for catching dirt, but am in a quandary about which pump to get. The vertical is only maybe 2'. I've tried an 800 GPH and it put out way too little flow. It was suggested to go with 2 800 GPH's, I like the idea of the 12V 'cause it's quiet, but then I'd have to keep charging the spare battery to keep up with the production. I've considered a 120V sump pump but they all have shut off valves which would defeat the purpose of leaving it submerged. I am also toying with the idea of a 2.5 HP gas pump by Jobe but it's $250.00 and noisy.
So which way do you think I should go? And how many GPH should I shoot for in this system?
I just saw a Johnson bilge pump that puts out 1980 GPH! Maybe go that route.
I also like the idea of light weight to "pack" in some where.

Never mind . . . I'm going with the Rule 14A bilge pump. 3700 GPH, 1 1/2" discharge, 15.5 amp draw. Should spit out some water!
Now . . . excuse me while I go find some gold.
