Which would you rather find in a box?

If you had the choice of a walker (cull condition), ben (very worn), 90% (nice), 3-40% ers (mint), or a modern (non silver) commem, which would you want to find? Note that none would be considered AU70 or anything to attach a huge premium.

I ask because of my modest finds, I think my favorite is still my ellis island commem. For me, it was my first keeper and while my memory is fading, I think it is what kept me going through the first 5-6 boxes I was hunting that were all skunks (aside from the commem). I was beginning to wonder if I was even searching correctly, but now I know all too well that skunk streaks of 5 boxes or more are relatively common.

Just wondering what gets everyone most excited. Is it just the ounces of Ag, the quality of the coins, or the age?

Walkers are my favorite design, but I'd rather have 3-40's if the walker is an almost slick.. more silver content..

I would take the walker since I haven't found one yet and I really want to. I haven't found a clad commem. either, but I don't really care about those too much.

3 x 40 is the obvious answer if you are just hunting and holding to sell when the price is right. You get ~25% more silver content total.

40% = 0.1475 ozT. x3 = 0.4425 ozT
90% = 0.3617 ozT.

My favorite find was my Stone Mountain commerative. I also found an Ellis island half that I thought was cool and keep it with my silver. I'd rather find the 3 40%

Call me crazy but I would take the Ben. There's just something about that coin I love

I would rather find a 70 D, 70 S or a 76 S 40%er. At least until I find a few more of each. HH

:icon_scratch: This is a interesting question you pose. I would go for the 3 40%ers because of the silver content. The other coins you described are more valuable as a indivual coin for their silver content as a 90% but they are still worth less (silver wise) than the 3 40% coins would be. The modern non silver commem has only a value of $ .50 after it is circulated. As far as what I enjoy most about the finds, it is the thrill of the find not all the other factors you list. After all this is a hobby for me not a business.

Great replies all. Fun to see how everyone thinks.

I intentionally tried to skew the types to see the different answers. I'm a bit surprised by the number of people that choose the 3 40%. They often sell at a discount so you don't really get all your money out of that extra silver, plus it costs $1.50 instead of just $0.50.

Keep the answers coming and remember, there are no wrong answers! lol

I'd take 1 of the 90%'s, they are harder to come by CRHing than 40's by far and everyone loves the 90%'s and most people want to get rid of the 40's to get more 90'%'s. HH, Maverick.

nice 90% all day- true you yield more silver with the 3 40's, but its a different story when you go to sell it... and thats what im all about!

Still looking for my first walker, so ill vote for that.

Walkers still evade me. Met Ben once a while back but he had a big hole in his head.

I'll take whatever the silver gods bestow upon me but I've yet to find a walker so I'd pick that.
