Man just seeing your rig gives me the itch!! born and raised fl boy, I stay out of Clearwater and as salty as they come😁 what a dream it would be to hunt on that level! Never been certified tank, but far better than average free diver. Good luck out there keep your lines full and head down😏💯

In my experience the Garrett Seahunter for about $750.00 is the best underwater machine. You have to learn how to use it and it has some quirks such as needing to be ground zeroed quite often , which can be done by waving it over your watch, but I have seen people find coins three feet deep in cracks with the loop turned sideways, which I always believed was impossible. My understanding was it had to be under the loop, but I have seen it myself. For underwater you get rid of the pole and just wear the detector on a dive belt and keep the loop in your hand that does not have the watch on it. If you start getting too much noise in the headphones run it over your watch and it will go silent again and listen for the slightest sounds if you want to find things really deep.
I had a Garrett land detector the coil worked sideways. Much easier to pinpoint that way if you sweep from 2 opposite directions (or cross-directions).

Is your restaurant still open?

We don't use tanks very often. We almost always dive on hookah rigs as the areas we work are pretty small and normally right under the boat and the depth allows much longer dive times. In the next couple months we will start diving full time and would be happy to have you contact us then.

Yes we will help you find lodging and if it works out on a longer basis you may be able to stay on one of the vessels. Two of the first vessels to be working the area house about 6 to 10 each.

You may want to touch base with ScubaFinder. His homebase is Clearwater and he is home for the Holidays. He will be head of operations.

This post is 17 years old and are you having trouble keeping people. Most divers jump at chances to hunt treasure.

Finally got out and got wet, was a little cold but I didn't care. Thanks to the crew of the Lobster Man for having us out. Much more to come!

Happy to hear from you. We have had a lot of inquiries and we plan on having operations going full time in the next 60 to 90 days weather permitting. We will have at least 3 large vessels and half a dozen support vessels for divers and surveyors. So stay in touch.
