I've never hated Brits . Shucks , some of the most remarkable early ancestors I have were 'ornery'
people shipped to the Virginia Colonies direct from Newgate Prison .
We simply sent most of the undesirables back to England in the late 1700's .

SS mate - On another site it said if it goes to the crown then it'll be auctioned and the finders split the money with the landowners..as usual.
A very curious find really. Can't see a collector or Gold hoarder just burying it in the garden.Wouldn't do that with a soveriegn ring never mind that lot! So probably some skullduggery has gone on there.

Yeah but I bet the digger was disappointed to see it was just modern US gold and not something good.

For the record if I ever did go to the UK my hopes would be to find the same things I look for here.
